§ What is Pro-Life Unity?

To achieve Pro-Life Unity we will establish standards that we all agree upon, and efforts that we all regularly participate in. By working together we can challenge the culture of death and the apathy which is pervasive in our society.

James 4:17 (Pt. 2)  Thought/Prayer:  Don’t Want to Do What’s Right to Do?  Topics:  2 at end.

“. . . If, however, a man knows what it is right to do and yet does not do it, he commits a sin.”  (WEY)  (Read this scripture and more at http://prayerpivot.com)

We may read this scripture and wonder:  What happens if we do know the right to do – and we do not want do it?  There is probably not a believer anywhere who has not come to a crossroads to choose between knowing the right and doing it – and struggling against doing it.  Doing what we know is right is often not:  convenient; appealing; or even interesting.  There are so many things in life that are “right,” but some of them just don’t seem attractive at given times.

Maybe we are convicted to stuff envelopes for a charity; to walk a neighborhood to talk about Jesus; to repair a house during a church/community outreach.  Those volunteers who keep books for charitable organizations may spend hours doing relatively uninteresting tasks such as adding up receipts or balancing spreadsheets.  (Or maybe a numbers person who finds this interesting would balk at doing laundry for homeless kids.)  God calls us out of our zones of desired relaxation and entertainment.  And what he calls us to may seem boring or too taxing:  But.  blessed. . . !

When it comes to pro-LIFE tasks, there are thousands!  I may go to an abortion mill to pray; a good Christian brother may keep those books for a charity; a good Christian sister may wash that laundry.  And even though we find some tasks very difficult to see to completion, at the end it is the Lord Who knows about our faithfulness; and he will reward us.  Yes, Blessed.

So - Proverbs 28:20: “A faithful man is rich with blessings; but one who is eager to be rich will not go unpunished.”  Lord, help us with Your desires for us, whether they are easy or not, that we may be faithful beyond our own feelings or wishes.

Topics:  Pray to be faithful beyond our own feelings or wishes.
