§ What is Pro-Life Unity?

To achieve Pro-Life Unity we will establish standards that we all agree upon, and efforts that we all regularly participate in. By working together we can challenge the culture of death and the apathy which is pervasive in our society.

James 5:16 Thot/Pryer: Why Pray For Pro-life Volunteers in a Thousand Ways, Places?Topics:2@end

“Confess therefore your sins one to another, and pray one for another, that ye may be healed. The supplication of a righteous man availeth much in its working.”  (ERV)  (Read this scripture and more at http://prayerpivot.com.)

A huge portion of pro-LIFE work is carried out by volunteers.  Where would the movement be if it weren’t for the thousands of us “ordinary” folks who are willing to invest time, effort, energy, money, and mental planning to stand up for created life?  Well, there would be a very diminished movement.  Volunteers in communities and churches are greatly involved in tireless working to protect the person in a mother’s womb from the irreversible travesty of having life forcefully ended before birth.  Unless a mother’s body voluntarily aborts a conceived baby for reasons often unknown, any other termination is one of choice and is, one way or another, forceful because it’s not natural.  And takes the life of a potential citizen of Planet Earth.

Pro-life volunteers understand that this happens.  But their outlook toward the mothers should not be one of condemnation or hate, no matter any reason a mother might have for doing this to her child.  Yes, there are those women who have abortion after abortion as a method of birth control.  Victims of violent conception often see no other way.  A frightened, heartsick young girl (maybe not even a teen yet) may not understand any other way but to do away with the unwanted person within.  These situations call for compassion, even if multiple abortions would speak to crassness toward life, the life in the womb.  The hope is for the Lord’s conviction, confession on the part of the woman, and forgiveness.

Jesus loved everyone the same, even His enemies, asking for their forgiveness, on the cross.  We, as “common” (well, not-so-common in God’s eyes) volunteers (and employees of some pro-life groups also) should find ourselves asking forgiveness from God when we are hard-hearted against those who kill their babies before birth.  God loves them with compassion; we should too.  And we do.

And if it were not for the thousands upon thousands of volunteers who speak for the person in the womb, the Pro-LIFE voice would be much weaker, in speaking for those in the womb who cannot yet speak for themselves.

So yes, we should pray for pro-LIFE volunteers in a thousand ways and places.  Lord, help us support the willing . . . with a willingness to pray and plead God’s favor.
