§ What is Pro-Life Unity?

To achieve Pro-Life Unity we will establish standards that we all agree upon, and efforts that we all regularly participate in. By working together we can challenge the culture of death and the apathy which is pervasive in our society.

Job 37:9-11   Thought/Prayer:  In the Weather.  Topics:  2 at end.

“Out of its room comes the storm, and cold out of the north.
By the breath of God, ice is given, and the breadth of the waters is frozen.
Yes, he loads the thick cloud with moisture. He spreads abroad the cloud of his lightning.”  WEB (Read these scriptures and more at

It’s pushing against the house and howling, the wind tonight.  It is bringing in a great change of weather, with the high tomorrow to be 34 degrees lower than today’s.  Brrr.

Here, in the book of Job, Job’s friend Elihu is extolling God’s great control of our weather . . . yes, He controlled it back then as well as today.  If there is one thing mankind cannot completely control, it’s weather!  And, it’s something that is always with us, always there, it’s pretty amazing.  No matter where we are on Earth, weather is there with us, like it so well or not so well.  Sometimes it simply rushes in on us.

So what could it mean, that God controls all of this every-day phenomenon under which we exist?  In which we exist really.  Ever wonder why He does include it in His Word?

We really don’t know why, do we?  But maybe we’re glad it’s there, first because it is of Him; secondly, because He made it to affect our lives so directly.  Perhaps the weather verses in the Bible are in essence the first meteorological handbook!  (At least the Bible verses about God and His weather directly attribute to His great hand of creation and His rule over things of science and the air around us.)

He placed us in the middle of His weather.  And He guides us who live in the middle of this His weather, be it wanted or unwanted.  Maybe if we can help others see how He has put within the mind of mankind abilities to deal with the weather, they will see how He cares for us as well.  May this is, in part, why the weather is in the Bible!

Topics:  Pray for understanding of how God cares for us, and for those going through storms of LIFE, and may He help us pass this on for those in many struggles.
