§ What is Pro-Life Unity?

To achieve Pro-Life Unity we will establish standards that we all agree upon, and efforts that we all regularly participate in. By working together we can challenge the culture of death and the apathy which is pervasive in our society.

John 10:1-4   Thought/Prayer:  He Leadeth Me.  Topics:  2 at end.

Jesus the Good Shepherd
“Truly, truly, I say to you, He that enters not by the door into the sheepfold, but climbs up some other way, the same is a thief and a robber.  But he that enters in by the door is the shepherd of the sheep. To him the porter opens; and the sheep hear his voice: and he calls his own sheep by name, and leads them out. and when he puts forth his own sheep, he goes before them, and the sheep follow him: for they know his voice.”  (AKJV)  (Read this scripture and more at http://prayerpivot.com.)

When one calendar year is drawing to its close, we may stop to look over the path we have taken as we have lived out the year’s days.  And no matter the paths upon which we have walked, Christians may be assured that God’s leading was with us all along.  An old song may express our thoughts best:  He Leadeth Me:  Oh Blessed Thought! by Joseph H . Gilmore (1862) (public domain).  (We might comment here, that “leadeth” is indeed an older way of expressing the word leads.  But for the beauty of the poetry in this song, leadeth it will remain.

He leadeth me: O blessed thought!
O words with heavenly comfort fraught!
Whate’er I do, where’er I be,
still ‘tis God’s hand that leadeth me.

This first verse expresses heavenly comfort.  We are well-supplied with it (fraught with it).  And don’ we need it!  Sometimes we really really need it; and we find that there is no other like it.  Friends and family may care deeply and offer great comfort.  But there is none like that of our Savior.  Also, wherever, whenever, whatever:  God’s hand always leads us.

And the refrain?  By His own hand.  There is no other hand to lead us wherever, whenever, or into whatever – than God’s.
Refrain:
He leadeth me, he leadeth me;
by his own hand he leadeth me:
his faithful follower I would be,
for by his hand he leadeth me.

The words below expresses the wide variance of times that God leads us. Heights and depths.  In gloom or bloom.

Sometimes mid scenes of deepest gloom,
sometimes where Eden’s flowers bloom,
by waters calm, o’er troubled sea,
still ‘tis God’s hand that leadeth me. Refrain

So, can we just clasp His hand and not complain (repine)?  Are we content, no matter what happens?  We can be.

Lord, I would clasp thy hand in mine,
nor ever murmur nor repine;
content, whatever lot I see,
since ‘tis my God that leadeth me. Refrain

And the last verse:  Beautifully said.  We all know that our task on Earth will be, some day, done.
And we know there will be victory because we have believed in the One who provided it on the cross and up from the grave:  Jesus Christ the Savior.

And when my task on earth is done,
when, by thy grace, the victory’s won,
e’en death’s cold wave I will not flee,
since God through Jordan leadeth me. Refrain

What a song of joyful meaning.  Yes, He leads us.  Me.  You.  And Lord, you are there waiting for the young woman in angst because of her pregnancy situation.  You’re there waiting for the father of the baby and the rest of the family.  Pray, pro-LIFERS, including the writer of this.  We pray, Lord, for You to reveal Yourself to such persons that they may also sing, “He leadeth me:  O blessed thought!”

Topics:  Pray for folks in difficult situations regarding created LIFE, that they will come to believe and thus be led by the hand of God.
