§ What is Pro-Life Unity?

To achieve Pro-Life Unity we will establish standards that we all agree upon, and efforts that we all regularly participate in. By working together we can challenge the culture of death and the apathy which is pervasive in our society.

John 10:11 (Pt. 2)  Thought/Prayer:  Us, as Sheep.  Topics:  2 at end.

“I am the good shepherd. The good shepherd lays down his life for the sheep:.” DARBY http://www.bible.com  (Read this scripture and more at http://prayerpivot.com)

What is it about sheep that makes us such good followers of our Shepherd?  Do we like it when we hear someone say that sheep are not very smart, and that they will get themselves in trouble because of it?  And then Jesus says He is the shepherd and that His sheep are important enough for Him to lay down his life for them?

Has sheep intelligence been proven?  We might find it hard to say.  But no matter how smart they are, we know that our Lord calls us His sheep, and I think we must take that as a compliment because paired with his calling us sheep is the then-inexplicable statement that He would lay down his life for us.  And He did.  Little did anyone know, when Jesus was saying this, that he was predicting exactly what would happen to Him.  So whether we consider sheep to be smart or not, they are worthy of Him and of His sacrifice.  In fact, the animal to be sacrificed at Passover was a perfect lamb.  Our Lord is the Lamb of God.

I think I’m glad we don’t have to prove ourselves to be smart, we sheep.  All we have to do is follow.  I think sheep are known for being able to “follow.”  That can be good or bad, depending on whether they are following a great leader, or a stubborn sheep going its own way.  One time I read of a stubborn old ewe who wanted to go her own way, and no other’s.  I believe she got herself into a great deal of trouble.

Help us, Lord, to follow you every step of the way.  Help us follow you to the door of a family in crisis over a diagnosis of a life-terminating condition in the baby in the womb.  Help us to know what to say or do to encourage the birthing of this little one who may, or may not, live awhile.  Help us help that family follow the road to LIFE, with our support and encouragement.

Topics:  Pray that God will make Himself known to any family facing the birth of a baby who will live only a few minutes, hours, or days.
