§ What is Pro-Life Unity?

To achieve Pro-Life Unity we will establish standards that we all agree upon, and efforts that we all regularly participate in. By working together we can challenge the culture of death and the apathy which is pervasive in our society.

John 10:11 Thought/Prayer: This Bull Elk Had a Difficult Task. Topics: 2 at end

“I am the good shepherd:  the good shepherd gifeth his life for the sheep.” KJV http://www.bible.com  (Read this scripture and more at http://prayerpivot.com)

The bull elk had a big job to do:  herd his harem.  He was observed attempting to keep his ladies and their calves in some type of order, in a clearing in Colorado.  His ladies weren’t being recalcitrant; it’s just that there were several of them, and they tended to wander off out of his attempted grouping, while grazing.  He would trot this way and herd a couple of them in, and then trot that way to include another mother and offspring.  We might say he was shepherding.

Jesus is our great Shepherd.  He has taken on the responsibility of keeping us close by, where we should be.  He knows our names, and we know His.  He doesn’t want us to stray far from the fold, a desire modeled in nature by our bull elk wanting to care for his graceful gals.  It seems that we, like them, may wander, perhaps not realizing it.  But we will be called back.  Our Lord will not let us stray too far.  His encircling care will do its work, and we will be once again in close for comfort and direction.

Lord, help us who work for LIFE to be aware when we are straying too far in any direction.  We are easily distracted with “grazing” of many types, whether it be an unawareness of how we ignore you when we choose the food we will eat, or whether we graze on material objects, or the love of prestige, clothes, houses, and such, thinking that they will fill us with great satisfaction.  Help us to realize it when we go astray before you have to come and herd us in.

Topics:  Pray for awareness when we are not as faithful as we should be, or when we are distracted by many things other than our Lord.
