§ What is Pro-Life Unity?

To achieve Pro-Life Unity we will establish standards that we all agree upon, and efforts that we all regularly participate in. By working together we can challenge the culture of death and the apathy which is pervasive in our society.

John 3:8 (Pt. 3)  Thought/Prayer:  Winds of the Universe.  Topics:  2 at end.

“The wind blows where it chooses, and you hear its sound, but you do not know where it comes from or where it is going. So is it with every one who has been born of the Spirit.”  (WEY)  (Read these scriptures and more at

So, as we consider how the natural winds on Earth help shape trees and how God’s wind of the Spirit can shape our lives, how far can we imagine things?  How can we, possibly, consider wind in a bigger way?  How about the winds of the universe?  Well, talk about a treatise in speed!  Just our sun can stream winds out at about 1,000,000 miles per hour.  Yes, a million.  And in all directions!  And somewhere in the universe, science has found or estimated winds of many millions of miles per hour.

All of this breeziness can turn our minds toward the wind of the Holy Spirit.  Well, the Spirit it stronger.  The Holy Spirit was strong enough to be the force in creation:  Genesis 1:1,2 (DRB): “In the beginning God created heaven, and earth. And the earth was void and empty, and darkness was upon the face of the deep; and the spirit of God moved over the waters.”  Psalm 104 extols God for His power of creation and says, (AKJV),  “You send forth your spirit, they are created: and you renew the face of the earth.”  Yes, the Holy Spirit is stronger.  He made those mind-blowing (pardon the pun) winds!

So how do we bring the power of this Spirit into our lives?  And how can we even comprehend how God has gifted us with it?

We cannot.  We can’t understand or even fathom it.  But we can believe it and give great thanks that God, who IS the Spirit, brings The Spirit to us to benefit our lives in ways we can “take.”  The full power of the Spirit would overwhelm us in our humanity, except that God actually makes it available to us in parcels with which we can deal.  That all the power of the Spirit in the universe can come to us is only a God-given thing.  And we ask Him to regulate it in our lives to His glory.

We use the Spirit’s power when we pray for those in LIFE struggles, and we ask Him to guide our prayers.  But even if we do not know how to pray for very complicated LIFE situations, it’s the wind of the Spirit that will interpret our prayers by interceding for us before the throne of God to bring our prayers in line with His will.  Romans 8:26, 27 (WEY)  “In the same way the Spirit also helps us in our weakness; for we do not know what prayers to offer nor in what way to offer them. But the Spirit Himself pleads for us in yearnings that can find no words, and the Searcher of hearts knows what the Spirit’s meaning is, because His intercessions for God’s people are in harmony with God’s will.”

Lord, thank You that You have blown into our lives Your Spirit, the Spirit of the universe and that You benefit us through Him.  May we also benefit those who search for answers in LIFE situations, life and death.  Thank You for the answers that will come through You and the convicting knowledge from the Spirit, to be offered to others in sometimes anguished need.

Topics:  Pray to be submissive to the Spirit every day, and to practice seeking His total will for others.
