§ What is Pro-Life Unity?

To achieve Pro-Life Unity we will establish standards that we all agree upon, and efforts that we all regularly participate in. By working together we can challenge the culture of death and the apathy which is pervasive in our society.

John 3:8 (Pt. 4)  Thought/Prayer:  Winds of Earth and LIFE.  Topics:  2 at end.

The winds of Earth in our lives vary a great deal, as do the effects of the wind of the Holy Spirit in our lives.  Some of the terms we may hear on the evening weather may include calm, breezy, gales, tornadoes.  (And, of course, any sailor would know that a total lack of wind on the sails means you’re “becalmed.”) (Not popular to a skipper.)

And don’t our lives experience similar situations, from calm (things going along pretty much normally); breezy (issues cropping up that require some resolution); gales – think Antarctica –  (a big blow regarding something big); or the potentially life-destructive power of a tornado wherein are probably some of the greatest wind speeds.

Practically speaking, the Holy Spirit can work in our lives accordingly and with many possible means and effects.  He is there when things are calm, encouraging with an inner voice of which we may be totally unaware.  These are sweet times in the Lord.

Or He may need to get a bit more wind power going when our problems pick up to needing a more breezy effect from the Spirit.  Things are not completely out of control, but we benefit from the input of the Holy Spirit . . . once again perhaps being unaware of His results, although we are asking for His help.

When the gales of life strike us (and they always do, for every person and family), then we are probably calling out to God more forcefully and asking for the wind of the Spirit to take over and help us.  We may be praying more . . . and always . . . or digging into our Bibles extra . . . or getting counsel from other Christians.  At these times the work of the Spirit may be very obvious and even come with miracles.

For personal tornadoes in our lives – well, we just totally rely on the Spirit to handle things.  Then is when we can see His hand of mercy reaching out to us; and we are forever grateful.

Unplanned pregnancies or aging relatives can bring on any of these different winds of life, calm or stormy.  Often families feel very wind-blown and storm-tossed.  But it is the Spirit whose power brings the calm of day; or His power is seen in the torrential hurricane or tornado.  It is up to us who support families in egregious LIFE winds – to ask for calm to return, just as Jesus calmed the storm on the Sea of Galilee.  And He is the Spirit.

Topics:  Pray for those, globe-wide, who are going through times of turmoil, that the Holy Spirit will intercede and convict for LIFE.
