§ What is Pro-Life Unity?

To achieve Pro-Life Unity we will establish standards that we all agree upon, and efforts that we all regularly participate in. By working together we can challenge the culture of death and the apathy which is pervasive in our society.

John 6:35 (Pt. 3)  Thought/Prayer:  Jesus/Wheat/Bread.  Topics:  2 at end.

“’I am the Bread of Life,’ replied Jesus; ‘he who comes to me shall never hunger, and he who believes in me shall never, never thirst.’”  (WEY)  (Read this scripture and more at http://prayerpivot.com.)

Wheat is a staple food in many countries . . . so is Jesus’ “wheat” a staple in the life of a Christian, so to speak?  A staple food is one that can be eaten throughout the year and is easy to store.  Such a food makes up a great portion of a person’s diet.  Wheat is such a food.  And yes, Jesus ‘ wheat makes up a great portion of Christians’ lives.

Of course, wheat is often made into bread, and so may we perhaps associate wheat/bread with Jesus Christ?  He is the Bread of Life, as we see in the scripture above.  My small cross on the wall, woven from wheat, brings that association to mind:  Jesus, the Bread of Life; from a human point of view, associated with wheat perhaps; my cross the symbol of His gift of life to us; and it’s made from wheat.  It is a lovely association.

My cross probably contains some kernels of wheat within the heads that add interest to the cross, slanting down from the crossbeams with fat hulls (or husks) surrounding the kernels within.  Maybe the kernels inside are big.  The heads of wheat are of ordered design, with the familiar alignment of the hulls ordered in slanting rows.

So I am reminded of Jesus the Bread of Life in viewing my wheat-cross.  I know that I want wheat to be a staple in my life, within the Bread of Life.  And then I am reminded how much Jesus wants to be the Bread of Life for all the moms, dads, siblings, extended families who are in anguish over an unexpected pregnancy.

Lord, help us to pray that these persons will find their way to a pregnancy crisis center to be brought to the Lord, that they may feed upon His life-giving bread of salvation.  It is then that they will have the Resource to make it through to Life for the coming child.  Then that child will grow to have the chance to know the Bread of Life Himself.

Topics:  Pray for uncertain moms, dad, and family members to find someone (Someone) who will lead them to life for the unplanned person on the way.
