§ What is Pro-Life Unity?

To achieve Pro-Life Unity we will establish standards that we all agree upon, and efforts that we all regularly participate in. By working together we can challenge the culture of death and the apathy which is pervasive in our society.

Lamentations 3:22-24 (Pt. 2)  Thought/Prayer: Mercies New Every Morning. Topics: 2 at end.

“It is of the LORD’s mercies that we are not consumed, because his compassions fail not.
They are new every morning: great is your faithfulness.
The LORD is my portion, said my soul; therefore will I hope in him.”  (AKJV)  (Read these scriptures and more at http://prayerpivot.com.)

God’s mercies are new every day when we wake up.  His mercies are like a items in a renewable gift bag.  We sleep at night under His life-sustaining plan for us.  We don’t have to make ourselves stay awake all night because we must make sure our heart and lungs continue to work.  No, we sleep; He maintains our body and even rejuvenates it through our sleeping.

So, we sleep.  We wake up.  And there is this gift for us from God:  New mercies.  Every morning, new mercies.  No, we don’t see them; no they are not wrapped up in some type of special paper.  But we receive them.  Aren’t we glad!

Yes, we worry not about whether we used up all of God’s mercy yesterday.  We worry not that today we are about to use the last precious ounce in that mercy bottle of perfume.  Maybe we could slightly compare it to the women who anointed Jesus’ head with costly perfume.
Mark 14:3-6 - World English Bible: “While he was at Bethany, in the house of Simon the leper, as he sat at the table, a woman came having an alabaster jar of ointment of pure nard—very costly. She broke the jar, and poured it over his head. But there were some who were indignant among themselves, saying, ‘Why has this ointment been wasted? For this might have been sold for more than three hundred denarii, and given to the poor.’ They grumbled against her. But Jesus said, ‘Leave her alone. Why do you trouble her? She has done a good work for me.’”  Now, this perfume could have cost a few thousand dollars an ounce.  And she poured it.  She seems unsparing in its use.

But even the container for this perfume was empty when it was all used.  The woman would have needed to take it for a refill the next day.  She most likely didn’t have that kind of money.  It was a marvelous tribute to our Lord and testified to her love for Him.  But even that expensive stuff was gone when it was gone.  She may have wished for more.

Not God’s mercies.  Never all gone.  New, new every morning.  Praise Him!  He never empties his jar of mercies and leaves it on a back shelf.  No, morning by morning they are new; and they are ours.

Lord, this is such a gracious gift from You.  Thank You that we can depend upon this never-ending supply of Your mercy toward us.  You know that we daily need it because we daily disappoint you and daily need forgiveness through Your mercies.  And, Lord, when someone is hurting with LIFE-uncertain issues, life and death things, please help them to know of this never-emptied supply of Your mercy.  Knowing it’s there can make all the difference in decisions that can be so costly.

Topics:  Pray for those struggling in life/death issues to know the mercy of God and its always-ongoing supply.
