§ What is Pro-Life Unity?

To achieve Pro-Life Unity we will establish standards that we all agree upon, and efforts that we all regularly participate in. By working together we can challenge the culture of death and the apathy which is pervasive in our society.

Luke 12:27   Thought/Prayer:  It Happens of God.  Topics:  2 at end.

“Observe the lilies, how they grow. They neither labour nor spin. And yet I tell you that not even Solomon in all his splendour was as beautifully dressed as one of these.  (WEY)  (Read this scripture and more at

As a lily in the field . . . as a hyacinth in the flower bed . . . as a rose on a bush at the edge of the yard . . . grows! . . . How does it happen?  It happens of God.

As a child takes a first step . . . as a girl becomes a woman . . . a boy, a man . . . How does it happen?  It happens of God.

A giant redwood begins tiny; a spot on a ladybug is always tiny; the zygote in the beginning of forming a human baby – infinitesimally small.  All of God.

We don’t know exactly how it is that a jonquil knows how to grow to be as it should . . . or how a redwood grows so greatly.  Oh, yes, we study and learn and try to protect all God’s natural world.  And we must!  We have been given charge of it (Psalm 8:5-8).  But to say we know how it all happens?  We don’t.

It is truly of God.  He has put life into everything living on planet Earth, human or animal or plant.  And not one of us living . . . ever . . . can put that life into anything.  Even if we plant an acorn and watch it sprout:  It was not you or I that did that sprouting.  It is of God.

Lord, it sometimes seems magnificent to consider all that You have created through your gifts of life.  The life in a cow came from you, as did the life in a gorilla.  The “life” in a petunia, whatever we could categorize it, is from you.  We can’t make that petunia be what it is.  We can call a rose, is a rose, is a rose, but we can’t grow it.

The crowning earthly life is, of course, the making of a new human being.  Oh, Lord, that all might see how this comes from You.  We study human conception and benefit greatly from what we learn.  But thank You, Lord, that the spark of life in a zygote, that fertilized ovum, has to come from You.  Even if we can ever succeed in duplicating it, the first ever came from You.

Topics:  Praise God for His creation and that He is so totally so different from us that we cannot create any spark of life on our own.  Praise Him for every unborn child coming from His spark.
