§ What is Pro-Life Unity?

To achieve Pro-Life Unity we will establish standards that we all agree upon, and efforts that we all regularly participate in. By working together we can challenge the culture of death and the apathy which is pervasive in our society.

Luke 2:1-7 (Pt. 4) Thought/Prayer:Thank God for Mary.Topics: 2@end.

“Just at this time an edict was issued by Caesar Augustus for the registration of the whole Empire. It was the first registration made during the governorship of Quirinius in Syria; and all went to be registered—every one to the town to which he belonged. So Joseph went up from Galilee, from the town of Nazareth, to Judaea, to David’s town of Bethlehem, because he was of the house and lineage of David, to have himself registered together with Mary, who was betrothed to him and was with child. But while they were there, her full time came, and she gave birth to her first-born son, and wrapped Him round, and laid Him in a manger, because there was no room for them in the inn.  WEY (Read these scriptures and more at

It was quite a trek from Nazareth to Bethlehem, about 70 miles or so.  By car, not a big deal.  By donkey, it gets more strenuous.  By foot, walking in daylight hours, 4 days perhaps or more . . . especially when a young mother-to-be is heavily pregnant and her time to deliver is drawing close.  Aren’t we thankful that Mary made it just fine and delivered a healthy Baby boy?  Aren’t we thankful that she was able to do this without midwives (that we know of) or . . . of course . . . a modern hospital or even her own familiar bedroom?  Thank God for the mother He gave Jesus:  Mary.

Many songs have been written about this forever-unique child, of course, from nights that are silent to angels hovering over shepherds.  All of the scenarios have been set to music, beautiful music.  It is many of these songs that evoke in us the special emotions that only accompany Christmas.  Some of the songs of deeper meaning have to do with Mary and her emotions in the depths of her experiences.  One of these asks if she knows the pathway her Son would take in life on Earth and that He would one day be her own Savior.  Thank You, Lord, for all of this, for Mary’s fortitude and for the songs and writings regarding her birthing of the Savior and all that it entailed.

Topics:  Praise God for Mary and her life and contribution to God’s plan for salvation for the universe in those who believe in her baby born, buried and risen.  Pray that mothers in dire circumstances may in some way be able to identify with Mary and thrust through, to overcome.
