§ What is Pro-Life Unity?

To achieve Pro-Life Unity we will establish standards that we all agree upon, and efforts that we all regularly participate in. By working together we can challenge the culture of death and the apathy which is pervasive in our society.

Luke 2:10 - 14 (Pt. 4)  Thought/Prayer:  We’re Swaddled.  Topics:  2 at end.

“And the angel said to them, Fear not: for, behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy, which shall be to all people. For to you is born this day in the city of David a Savior, which is Christ the Lord. And this shall be a sign to you; You shall find the babe wrapped in swaddling clothes, lying in a manger. And suddenly there was with the angel a multitude of the heavenly host praising God, and saying, Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace, good will toward men.”  (AKJV)  (Read these scriptures and more at http://prayerpivot.com.)

We learn about Jesus being swaddled in cloths in the manger.  We think of Him being lovingly wrapped all over and under and around, with His little face peeking out at those around Him.  We understand that He is swaddled for security and warmth, now that He has come into the world and all of its differences from life in Mary’s womb.

But think of His swaddling in another way:  He swaddles us.  “How?”, you may say.  Well, just at Jesus was wrapped with love, He Himself wraps us with love itself.  His love.  These are the type of swaddling cloths that cannot be seen with human eye but can be very well known in human hearts.  We do not know exactly their pattern around us, only that they are there, and that they are comforting and secure.

Have you ever needed reassurance of the Lord’s love, perhaps even to the point of curling yourself up on your bed out of need, and then in some way those bands of love seemed to close around you?  And you were comforted.  You would not be able to show anyone that they were there; but they were there, crisscrossed all around, and You knew their comfort.  Maybe the problem causing your distress was not immediately resolved.  But you knew that it would be:  you were surrounded tightly in God’s love.

Lord, we thank you for the bands of love that You give to us as swaddling wraps.  We covet them, Lord, even in the different ages of our lives.  We never . . . even at 80 or 90 . . . outgrow the need to be cuddled and over-wrapped by Your love, Lord.  Never.  Thank You for the knowledge You give us that those bands of love are there, always, now and forever.

Topics:  Praise God for His bands of love surrounding us – and pray for babies in the womb who know the security of the womb – but who will also be able, one day, to choose the eternal security of Heaven’s loving swaddles.
