Luke 24:1, Luke 24:12   Thought/Prayer:  THE LORD JESUS.  Topics:  2 at end.

The women who followed Jesus’ body to the tomb went home to prepare spices and perfumes for its wrappings.
Luke 24:1
The Resurrection
And on the first day of the week, at early dawn, they came to the tomb bringing the spices they had prepared. But they found the stone rolled back from the tomb, and on entering they found that the body of the Lord Jesus was not there.”
Luke 24:12   “Peter, however, rose and ran to the tomb. Stooping and looking in, he saw nothing but the linen cloths: so he went away to his own home, wondering at what had happened.”  (WEY)  (Read this scripture and more at http://prayerpivot.com.)

Still thinking of Easter-Sunday services?  There is one great aspect to the Luke 24:1 scripture above.  The Lord Jesus.

“Well,” you may say . . . “of course The Lord Jesus.  That is what Easter is all about . . . The Lord Jesus’ coming forth from the dead.”  Of course that is true.  Yes, it is the truth.

But isn’t it wonderful that all but one of the translations of this verse (24 0f 25) on biblehub.com use this same combination of words.  (The one translation that is different is the Aramaic Bible in Plain English, and it has “Yeshua” which was the name to be given to Him when the angel Gabriel informed Mary that she would be His mother.)

It’s just that when we refer to the Lord Jesus, it may seem that we are speaking of Him after the centuries of time of thinking of Him in that way.  But, no.  He is called that from the very first knowledge of His resurrection.  The scripture does not just say that Jesus wasn’t in the tomb.  It’s the LORD JESUS.  Yes, His name was Jesus.  But He was also LORD.

There is no big revelation here, but it seems apropos that this is the way to which He is referred upon the women’s discovery that His body was gone.  He was THE LORD JESUS.  He was then.  He is now.  He always has been.  There was never a time that he was not known by this name.  What a great name it is.  It is the name of the Master of the universe.  And it was written about upon the first-born-from-the-dead realization by humans.  And, His resurrection established it here on Earth, immediately.

Praises to Him and His glorious unmatched name.

Lord, we ask that we may consider Your Name, THE LORD JESUS, in terms of understanding for others who are coming to believe.  For those who receive the testimony as they go through trying choices of LIFE and death, may we make so profound His rising form the dead that they will be beautifully overwhelmed by His NAME and come to know Him as Savior and LORD of their lives.  May we make real – You are THE LORD JESUS.

Topics:  Pray for those in struggles who need to know the Lord.  And ask for His help for them in LIFE issues that are so difficult.
