§ What is Pro-Life Unity?

To achieve Pro-Life Unity we will establish standards that we all agree upon, and efforts that we all regularly participate in. By working together we can challenge the culture of death and the apathy which is pervasive in our society.

Luke 2:7 (Pt.2)  Thought/Prayer:  Some Considerations on a Poem.  Topics:  2 at end.

“She gave birth to her firstborn son. She wrapped him in bands of cloth, and laid him in a feeding trough, because there was no room for them in the inn.”  WEB (Read this scripture and more at

Some Considerations in a poem:  How do we know?  Here’s the poem again; comments to follow.

Lord, help us in the month of December to picture babies, of all size
Who kick and laugh and suck their thumbs, as You did, amid cries;

Help us to see them fresh, new-born . . . arriving here on Earth
To kick and laugh and suck their thumbs, as you did after birth.

In the month of celebration, that of your wondrous birth,
Help us to think of babies and their valuable Godly worth.
Help us to view them sweetly as we see them on the street;
And let us have a little peek at bundled faces sweet.

If we maybe think of babies - unique and formed just right,
We’ll think of You and children, of worth in Your own sight.

And if we think of children, and You creating them,
We’ll be convinced to pray and go—and speak for her or him.

May others see our loving of those you made unique . . .
And maybe they will ponder life and of the preborn speak . . .
To help those in the struggle of unexpected news,
That they’ll know the only way:  their baby’s life to choose;
And give their babies birth.

Pray that this will be the way
That lives are saved on Earth each day.

How is it that a person (me) could write a poem that describes a bit the baby Jesus in a manger as a baby?  Is this not a bit presumptuous, to think that I could even make a wild guess about what the babe-in-the-manger was like?

There was a good reason, I thought, and I pray that it is correct.  It has to do with the fact that Jesus Christ, in human form, was made just as we are made.  And so, since we are made in His image, and He came as a baby . . . does it not follow that He would behave as a baby just as we do?  Hopefully this reason is not off-base.  But consider it.  It’s nice.  It’s just awesome to think that we have so much in common with:  God in the flesh.

So, hopefully the poem is right-on; and we need to thank God for not only a poem about the baby Jesus . . . but we can thank him that we are indeed made in His image, as all babies in mothers’ wombs are.  And this is all the more reason to allow these babies to be born.  Lord, help these babies.  They need the right to live and to be described in a hopefully acceptable poem by someone who works to better their chances of all receiving the gift of life, just like their Lord who came as a baby like them.

Topics:  Pray for babies to be born so that they can live their lives in the same manner that Jesus Christ did on Earth for all is years here.
