§ What is Pro-Life Unity?

To achieve Pro-Life Unity we will establish standards that we all agree upon, and efforts that we all regularly participate in. By working together we can challenge the culture of death and the apathy which is pervasive in our society.

Luke 2:7 (Pt. 2)  Thought/Prayer:  “What Child is This?”.  Topics:  2 at end.

“And she brought forth her firstborn son, and wrapped him in swaddling clothes, and laid him in a manger; because there was no room for them in the inn.”  (AKJV)  Read this scripture and more at http://prayerpivot.com.)

Another Christmas carol (public domain) that focuses on the Savior Jesus at His birth as a baby is “What Child Is This?”  The lyrics were written by William Chatterton Dix in 1865, later to be set to the melody of the English folk tune, “Greensleeves.”  It seems that some of the most personal Christmas lyrics are those that focus personally on the Baby Jesus.  Maybe we can just all identify with a newborn, especially one who was sleeping in a feed trough for animals.

What Child is This?

What Child is this, Who, laid to rest
On Mary’s lap is sleeping?
Whom angels greet with anthems sweet,
While shepherds watch are keeping?

This, this is Christ the King;
Whom shepherds guard and angels sing:
Haste, haste to bring Him laud,
The Babe, the Son of Mary!

Why lies He in such mean estate,
Where ox and ass are feeding?
Good Christian, fear: for sinners here
The silent Word is pleading:

This, this is Christ the King;
Whom shepherds guard and angels sing:
Haste, haste to bring Him laud,
The Babe, the Son of Mary!

So bring Him incense, gold, and myrrh,
Come peasant, king to own Him;
The King of kings salvation brings;
Let loving hearts enthrone Him.

This, this is Christ the King;
Whom shepherds guard and angels sing:
Haste, haste to bring Him laud,
The Babe, the Son of Mary!

In the song we see the story of His birth, how there were angels singing; shepherds guarding sheep; and that the baby’s family was poor (of mean estate, even to sleeping where animals feed).

He is the Word, the Word of God.  He came for sinners, pleading for us to come to Him.  He brings salvation.

Hurry, hurry to Him, to praise Him.  To praise even a baby.  And bring Him the gifts he deserves, expensive gifts of incense, gold and myrrh.

All of this, as a Baby.  How all babies are honored here.  If the Son of God is presented to the world as a baby, there can be no greater affirmation of created LIFE.  Please, Lord, help those who are struggling with unplanned children coming . . . help them to see the value of God’s choosing a baby for His eternal plan.  Help them to see the value of their coming child.

Topics:  Pray for all babies in wombs today, that they will be valued in their parents’ hearts.
