§ What is Pro-Life Unity?

To achieve Pro-Life Unity we will establish standards that we all agree upon, and efforts that we all regularly participate in. By working together we can challenge the culture of death and the apathy which is pervasive in our society.

Luke 2:8-12 (Pt. 2)  Thought/Prayer:  The Day After Christmas.  Topics:  2 at end.

“Now there were shepherds in the same part of the country, keeping watch over their sheep by night in the open fields, when suddenly an angel of the Lord stood by them, and the glory of the Lord shone round them; and they were filled with terror. But the angel said to them, “Put away all fear; for I am bringing you good news of great joy—joy for all the People. For a Saviour who is the Anointed Lord is born to you to-day, in the town of David. And this is the token for you: you will find a babe wrapped in swaddling clothes and lying in a manger.”  WEY (Read these scriptures and more at http://prayerpivot.com.)

The day after Christmas is often filled up with discount shopping and making returns.  Retailers add much to their coffers on this day and the days or weekend that follow.  There is nothing wrong with this.  Why not save a little more on something you’ve been watching to go down in price or on something you will use next year at yuletide?  Go for it!

But also go (once again) for the true meaning of Christmas.  Don’t forget the manger and the shepherds and the holy family once Christmas Day ends.  Maybe the manger scene and the mistletoe over the doorway have gone into annual storage in the basement or attic.  But be careful not to store away the Baby, the center of all that is CHRISTmas.  He is not annual; He is not stored away; He is all day every day every year.  We do not have to find a box just the right size for putting Him away; He’s always going to be right there, available, wherever we are.

But maybe it’s easy to put Him into some type of “storage” in our lives.  If we let Him reign in our lives, He will not only always be “there” for us, He will ask us to do things in His name.  This is where it might be more convenient to put Him on a back shelf.  But He won’t let us do this for long.  His Spirit will be convicting us, and before long we will realize that His rightful place is right with us, unpacked, up front, and alive in our lives.

Lord, thank You that You will not let us put you away in our lives, away from our lives, for long.  You love us too much.  And just as love was the essence of the manger, You will keep after us to worship that baby the King:  You, Lord.  Just help us to never truly wish to put you away hidden in our lives.

Topics:  Pray for wisdom on how to keep Jesus the baby always current and active in our lives, as He is Jesus the Lord.
