§ What is Pro-Life Unity?

To achieve Pro-Life Unity we will establish standards that we all agree upon, and efforts that we all regularly participate in. By working together we can challenge the culture of death and the apathy which is pervasive in our society.

Luke 2: 6 – 19   Thought/Prayer:  Pondering and Portraits.  Topics:  2 at end.

“And they came with haste, and found Mary, and Joseph, and the babe lying in a manger.  And when they had seen it, they made known abroad the saying which was told them concerning this child.  And all they that heard it wondered at those things which were told them by the shepherds.  But Mary kept all these things, and pondered them in her heart.” AKJV (Read these scriptures and more at http://prayerpivot.com.)

This familiar passage about the birth of Jesus has a very sweet portion to it regarding Mary‘s thoughts about the birth of her miraculous baby and his adoration of the shepherds and others.  She pondered things in her heart.  What mother does not think deep thoughts about her offspring?

There is a pro-life center, a pregnancy crisis center, where parents may have photos taken of their children.  This is a way to reach out to parents after the birth of a child, children who were brought to birth through the positive choice of their parents to not abort.  These photos are a pictorial reminder of that choice.  Parents relish these portraits.

Mary did not have a way to snap a photo of her baby Jesus.  But we know that in her heart and mind she must have had the image of his little baby face with her constantly, as mothers do.  And maybe taking photos is a way of pondering over a baby – every time, even over years, that the photo is admired, thoughts of that child and person he or she has become are reflected over.

We must be thankful for centers such as this one who are always reaching out to mothers, fathers, babies, kids, in so many ways to encourage life and family and children.  Lord, let us commit to hold these ministries up in prayer, to serve the employees and volunteers in this way.  They surely must do plenty of pondering through their prayers.  We can too.

Topics:  Pray for pregnancy crisis centers to be able to reach out in effective ways to families – before and after the birth of babies – saved from death by very wise choices.
