§ What is Pro-Life Unity?

To achieve Pro-Life Unity we will establish standards that we all agree upon, and efforts that we all regularly participate in. By working together we can challenge the culture of death and the apathy which is pervasive in our society.

Luke 7:1-10   Thought/Prayer:  Why Pray “Life” for Military Leaders?  Topics:  2 at end.

“Now when he had ended all his sayings in the audience of the people, he entered into Capernaum.  And a certain centurion’s servant, who was dear unto him, was sick, and ready to die.  And when he heard of Jesus, he sent unto him the elders of the Jews, beseeching him that he would come and heal his servant.  And when they came to Jesus, they besought him instantly, saying, That he was worthy for whom he should do this: For he loveth our nation, and he hath built us a synagogue.
Then Jesus went with them. And when he was now not far from the house, the centurion sent friends to him, saying unto him, Lord, trouble not thyself: for I am not worthy that thou shouldest enter under my roof:  Wherefore neither thought I myself worthy to come unto thee: but say in a word, and my servant shall be healed.  For I also am a man set under authority, having under me soldiers, and I say unto one, Go, and he goeth; and to another, Come, and he cometh; and to my servant, Do this, and he doeth it.
When Jesus heard these things, he marvelled at him, and turned him about, and said unto the people that followed him, I say unto you, I have not found so great faith, no, not in Israel.  And they that were sent, returning to the house, found the servant whole that had been sick.”  KJV http://www.bible.com  (Read this scripture and more at http://prayerpivot.com)

Why should we pray for military leaders?  What have they to do with abortion, the elderly, the disabled?  We may remark, the disabled are often denied military service because of certain deficiencies in required performance; they won’t even be serving.  Or, military leaders in the field may never be involved at a personal level with euthanasia back home.  Or we think, military leaders at the Pentagon would not deal with LIFE issues of abortion and more.

But still, even though someone’s job description doesn’t include anything about the sanctity of human life in all its dimensions, still, a prevailing attitude for LIFE can make a difference on the job.  Even though military leaders do not deal with life-issues daily, as they perform their military tasks, life and death must necessarily be a part of it in some form.  After all, military forces are to preserve life, to defend those they protect, which may mean being in the thick of life-and-death issues.  The leaders on the field may be the most important players here:  They must save lives when at all humanly possible.  We know a life in a womb is a true life.  Surely pregnant women would be spared from attack
in war incidents, before anyone, given the right conditions.

As the centurion described his job, he led men who answered to him:  many men.  Any men and women under authority of another, when looking to their leaders, will pick up on attitudes.  So we must pray for our military leaders, on or off the field of battle.

Lord, we ask that you will help our military leaders be under Your authority, even as they are authorized to lead others.  Help their actions and attitudes to be honoring to you as they hopefully seek to honor Life, given by you, to each man or women they lead.

Topics:  Pray for military leaders to gain respect for LIFE and the giver of it.
Pray for any military leader you know, or those from your state or town.
