§ What is Pro-Life Unity?

To achieve Pro-Life Unity we will establish standards that we all agree upon, and efforts that we all regularly participate in. By working together we can challenge the culture of death and the apathy which is pervasive in our society.

Luke 7:35-36 Thought/Prayer:  Kind to the Ungrateful.  Topics:  2 at end.

“Nevertheless love your enemies, be beneficent; and lend without hoping for any repayment. Then your recompense shall be great, and you will be sons of the Most High; for He is kind to the ungrateful and wicked. Be compassionate just as your Father is compassionate.”  WEY (Read these scriptures and more at http://prayerpivot.com.)

Aren’t a lot of us humans just plain ol’ ungrateful?  I know I am.  I forget to notice all of the great gifts God gives me, day in, day out; in season, out of season; always and forever.  It’s just so easy to go through our days without really considering how these days . . . and us . . . got here.  How did God create time?  How did He create “seasons” of life?  How did He put together all of the intricacies of Earthly life, myriads and myriads of marvels from the solar blasts of the sun to the droplet on the tip of an icicle debating whether to drop off or to freeze there.

I think we should love this scripture, we who find it so easy to ignore what greatness God has made.  “. . . for He is kind to the ungrateful . . .”  Us.  It includes all of us.  There is no one who has been grateful every moment of every day.  Who is grateful in the middle of a flu bug or a sand storm?  Well, maybe there are some who will find something for thanksgiving in the pelting sand – gravel could be worse, perhaps.

But it is in God’s character to love us and to bestow His kindness even when we are unlovably ungrateful.  Even if we would look in the mirror and instead of seeing our everyday reflection we would see our grateful-selves – we’d look pretty ugly.  But God loves even that looks of us.  He even bestows His kindness upon that ugly appearance.  How grateful we should be for that!

Lord, help us to be grateful for You and that loving character of yours.  We ask that this attitude toward You will be apparent, or transparent, when we serve others.  In pro-LIFE, help our attitude to make the difference as we share with others about LIFE and all of its terribly difficult decisions.

Topics:  Pray for a heart of gratefulness toward our God Who loves us, though ungrateful.
