§ What is Pro-Life Unity?

To achieve Pro-Life Unity we will establish standards that we all agree upon, and efforts that we all regularly participate in. By working together we can challenge the culture of death and the apathy which is pervasive in our society.

Easter Devotions – A Week of Reprise

Posted 04-21-2014 “Easter Happened”
Mark 16:1-8
“When the Sabbath was past, Mary Magdalene, and Mary the mother of James, and Salome, bought spices, that they might come and anoint him. Very early on the first day of the week, they came to the tomb when the sun had risen. They were saying among themselves, “Who will roll away the stone from the door of the tomb for us?” for it was very big. Looking up, they saw that the stone was rolled back. Entering into the tomb, they saw a young man sitting on the right side, dressed in a white robe, and they were amazed. He said to them, “Don’t be amazed. You seek Jesus, the Nazarene, who has been crucified. He has risen. He is not here. Behold, the place where they laid him! But go, tell his disciples and Peter, ‘He goes before you into Galilee. There you will see him, as he said to you.’” They went out, and fled from the tomb, for trembling and astonishment had come on them. They said nothing to anyone; for they were afraid.”  WEY (Read this scripture and more at http://prayerpivot.com.)

Yes, Easter happened.  Across our nation and around the globe there were multi-faceted celebrations, from small country churches to the great cathedrals of Europe:  Joy was sounded.

It’s amazing, the kaleidoscope of celebrations from culture to culture.  Our celebration at our church was carried out without any of the old Easter tunes with which many of us grew up.  At one point in my life, this had bothered me . . . the trend toward the perhaps-considered less formal type of service, carried out in different ways as an attempt to make visitors feel more welcome on that special day.  But this year it was OK.  The service had big praise from choir and soloists; and there was a moving portrayal of Jesus’ journey to the cross . . . and on it . . . leading, of course, to a bright light emanating from the tomb with Jesus walking out of it.  The drama was a beautiful message with no spoken words.

The different varieties of this portrayal around planet Earth would be as greatly different as the cultures that planned them.  But one thing remains:  He is risen.  He is risen.  And, as the old greeting response goes, “He is risen indeed.”

Somewhere there is someone needing to know this.  Somewhere there is someone who did not attend an Easter service celebration.  Somewhere is a family struggling with LIFE decisions who needs to know this.  But where are they?  God knows.

What we can do is pray to be led to those who need to know.  Lord, please let us know where they are, in our sphere of life, and help us to help them with the saving and peace-giving knowledge of You and Your life-giving resurrection.  Yes, help us dear Lord, to find them in whatever culture they are.  Then next year perhaps they will be celebrating Easter according to their best way of saluting salvation and joy.
