§ What is Pro-Life Unity?

To achieve Pro-Life Unity we will establish standards that we all agree upon, and efforts that we all regularly participate in. By working together we can challenge the culture of death and the apathy which is pervasive in our society.

Mark 4:29   Thought/Prayer: Contrast in God’s Care.  Topics:  2 at end.

“But when the fruit is produced, immediately he sends the sickle, for the harvest is come.”  DARBY  (Read this scripture and more at

There was an air show this weekend at the military base in our town, and I attended.  On the way there I drove past a field where hay had been grown.  The hay had been harvested.  In fact, there were round bales of hay right alongside the military base property.  I thought, “What a contrast!”  Here lie one of the most basic of things on earth, bales of hay; and they are right alongside a center of power and technology and protection.

Fact is, I am thankful for both.  The hay represented to me God’s basic love for our planet, beginning with harvests.  The Old Testament is filled with references to the land and harvest.  There were feasts celebrating the harvest.  God created Planet Earth to sustain his animals and people with food from the land (and the sea, too, of course).

The military base represented to me the utmost in protection God provides, humanly speaking.  Our greatest protection always comes from His strong hand.  But he has allowed us to also have protection from the military, just as the Israelites had in their journey to the Promised Land.  In the New Testament, our battle for God’s ways is compared to military armor.

Lord, help us to appreciate your plans for us.  We don’t understand them all when it comes to abortion and euthanasia and other life-threatening issues.  But help us to appreciate your concern and care for us and to pray that it will be very evident to families facing a crises of a LIFE issue.

Topics:  Pray for God’s hand to be seen as protective and uplifting to those in pregnancy crises or end-of-life issues.
