§ What is Pro-Life Unity?

To achieve Pro-Life Unity we will establish standards that we all agree upon, and efforts that we all regularly participate in. By working together we can challenge the culture of death and the apathy which is pervasive in our society.

Mark 5:41-43 (Pt. 3) More to Eat Than Food.

Thought/Prayer:  Topics:  2 at end.

Jesus, regarding the ruler’s daughter who had died:  “Taking her by the hand, he said to her ‘Talitha cumi’; which means, ‘Little girl, I say to you, arise.’  And immediately the girl got up and walked (she was twelve years of age), and they were immediately overcome with amazement.  And he strictly charged them that no one should know this, and told them to give her something to eat.”

I wonder what food the girl was given to eat.  Dates?  Figs?  Some bread?  Probably water.  Whatever it was, we can surmise that she was very happy to eat it.  Perhaps Jesus stayed with her as she ate.  We don’t know.

But we do know that, given Jesus’ future, he feeds us with more than physical food.  He gives us the Bread of Life:  Himself.  This girl did not have the crucifixion and resurrection as part of her life’s history.  We don’t know if she actually heard him testify to the fact that he is the Bread of Life.  But Jesus was there for her in every way in which he is here for us today.

We pray for daily bread, as in Our Lord’s Prayer.  But also pray today that Christ will feed souls hungry for Him, especially those who work for LIFE.
