§ What is Pro-Life Unity?

To achieve Pro-Life Unity we will establish standards that we all agree upon, and efforts that we all regularly participate in. By working together we can challenge the culture of death and the apathy which is pervasive in our society.

Matthew 20:26-28 (Pt. 2)  Thought/Prayer:  A Servant’s Protocol?  Topics:  2 at end.

The mother of James and John, the sons of Zebedee, came to Jesus and asked that her two sons might sit on either side of Jesus in Heaven.
Matthew 20:26-28 (Pt. 2) “The other ten heard of this, and their indignation was aroused against the two brothers. But Jesus called them to Him, and said, “You know that the rulers of the Gentiles lord it over them, and their great men exercise authority over them. Not so shall it be among you; but whoever desires to be great among you shall be your servant, and whoever desires to be first among you shall be your bondservant; just as the Son of Man came not to be served but to serve, and to give His life as the redemption-price for many.”  WEY (Read these scriptures and more at http://prayerpivot.com.)

Could it be said that servants have protocols?  If so, what are the protocols as applied to Christians who dedicate themselves to be servants of the Lord Jesus Christ?  Protocols are often used in medical fields, and they used in formal transactions between countries.  They are formal, set ways in which things are to be done.  Even in educational circles, protocols are in place for certain aspects of testing and planning for students.

So how could this possibly apply to servants of the Lord Jesus?  We have freedom, right?  “For the Lord is the Spirit, and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom.” 2 Corinthians 3:17, WEB.  Yes, we have freedom from following rules to get into Heaven; freedom from hundreds of laws set forth by Jewish leaders as we read in the Old Testament; freedom from guilt and fear as we trust our Lord Jesus.

But when it comes to serving our Lord, there are certain rules or guidelines . . . protocols if you will . . . that are very helpful, even necessary, to follow.  A few of these might be:  Serve in all honestly; serve wholeheartedly; serve as guided through study of the Word of God and prayer; serve in integrity.  Ephesians 6:5 –7 tells us, “Servants, be obedient to them that are your masters according to the flesh, with fear and trembling, in singleness of your heart, as to Christ; Not with eye-service, as men-pleasers; but as the servants of Christ, doing the will of God from the heart; With good will doing service, as to the Lord, and not to men: . . .”  WEB

Well, we might say that serving wholeheartedly says it all because wholehearted persons want to do things correctly, to follow protocol.  It’s a half-hearted person who wants to cut corners and do things the easy way instead of how they should be done.

Lord, help us to realize that we are into servanthood with you; and help us to know how to go by the protocol You set for us when You were on planet Earth.  May we play out this protocol very well when we are serving those who need help and advice on LIFE issues in their lives.

Topics:  Pray to serve wholeheartedly and in integrity in Christian endeavors, including anti-abortion, anti-euthanasia and more areas of need.
