§ What is Pro-Life Unity?

To achieve Pro-Life Unity we will establish standards that we all agree upon, and efforts that we all regularly participate in. By working together we can challenge the culture of death and the apathy which is pervasive in our society.

Matthew 21:12-17 (Pt. 5)  Thought/Prayer:  Make Room for Children.  Topics:  2 at end.

Jesus Cleanses the Temple
“And Jesus went into the temple of God, and cast out all them that sold and bought in the temple, and overthrew the tables of the moneychangers, and the seats of them that sold doves, And said to them, It is written, My house shall be called the house of prayer; but you have made it a den of thieves.
And the blind and the lame came to him in the temple; and he healed them. And when the chief priests and scribes saw the wonderful things that he did, and the children crying in the temple, and saying, Hosanna to the son of David; they were sore displeased, And said to him, Hear you what these say? And Jesus said to them, Yes; have you never read, Out of the mouth of babes and sucklings you have perfected praise? And he left them, and went out of the city into Bethany; and he lodged there.”  AKJV (Read these scriptures and more at

We may think of the Jewish temple in Jerusalem as an regal place of sacrifice and worship, and it certainly had many solemn characteristics about it.  It was here that priests sacrificed animals for the forgiveness of sin, in certain sections of the beautiful building.  The Holy of Holies was the most holy place of all.  Only the high priest could go in there once a year to offer a sacrifice for the sins of the entire nation of Israel.  But there was also room for families, children.

There were courts for gentiles, women, and men.  Children could be in the court of the gentiles and in the court of the women.  So that is how there came to be children praising Jesus in the temple.  They had every right to be there in the areas allowing their presence.
God plans for everyone.  He makes room for children.  They are even allowed to shout praises in the very temple in which very profound activities take place, activities of worship and the confession of sin.  Isn’t it a happy thing, though, that children were also welcomed there.  Jesus must certainly have enjoyed their presence when they were so joyful to be near Him.

Families need to make room for children.  Most families do, by planning for the children; making sacrifices of time and effort for them; providing them room to live and breathe free.  This doesn’t mean that all kids have a room to themselves or have all the latest in clothing or entertainment.  No, really, families make room for children in their hearts, whether it be older sisters or brothers, parents, aunts, uncles and on and on.  But how difficult is it when the child is unplanned and thusly unwelcomed?

We try to understand how difficult it is.  And perhaps when we ask God to help us understand, we may be more able to counsel families about preparing a place in the home . . . and in hearts.  We must ask God to help families make places for children, just as He does.

Topics:  Pray to help families see the importance of making room for children in their lives, planned or unplanned.
