§ What is Pro-Life Unity?

To achieve Pro-Life Unity we will establish standards that we all agree upon, and efforts that we all regularly participate in. By working together we can challenge the culture of death and the apathy which is pervasive in our society.

Matthew 5:13 (Pt. 2)  Thought/Prayer:  Be Instant in Salting.  Topics:  2 at end.

“You are the salt of the earth, but if the salt has lost its flavor, with what will it be salted? It is then good for nothing, but to be cast out and trodden under the feet of men.”  (WEB)  Read this scripture and more at http://prayerpivot.com

We Christians do not want our salt to be good for nothing because it has lost its saltiness.  We are assigned by God to bring out the flavor of life in those around us, to augment the taste of life in a spiritual sense.  But we are told in this scripture that if we lose our flavor, then our salt will just be good for trodding under foot.

What might we do to retain this salt which we are to share with others?  Be instant.  Good salt brings an instant reaction to the taste buds.  Sprinkle from a shaker, and our next bite will probably taste better; the flavors already there will have been brought out a bit. 2 Timothy 4:2 even tells us we are to be instant:  “Preach the word; be instant in season, out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort with all long-suffering and doctrine” (AKJV).  Some translations have this as being urgent.  Well, if our food is bland, we feel urgent about getting it salted!

How do we become instant flavor-enhancers?  Maybe stay well-versed in scripture.  Keep our prayer life current and regular.  We need to keep ourselves salted with God’s flavors, perhaps.

Then, having kept close to Him, we can see when those around us need to have the encouragement of some instant flavor boosting.  Spiritually, we can pray to know which folks with whom we associate are feeling bland and tasteless in their daily lives.  Some way, directly or indirectly, we can help them.  Sometimes this comes through prayer.

Lord, help us to have perception about others’ needs for a bit of salt from above, through us.  Help us get ready to add meaningful flavor to the teenage, pregnant girl, weighed down with anguish.  Help us to find ways to enhance her life, and that of her unborn child.

Topics:  Pray for God to send us people who can use some of His salt to enhance their lives.
