§ What is Pro-Life Unity?

To achieve Pro-Life Unity we will establish standards that we all agree upon, and efforts that we all regularly participate in. By working together we can challenge the culture of death and the apathy which is pervasive in our society.

Matthew 6:25-29 (Pt. 3)  Thought/Prayer:  Fed From Above.  Topics:  2 at end.

Do Not Worry
For this reason I charge you not to be over-anxious about your lives, inquiring what you are to eat or what you are to drink, nor yet about your bodies, inquiring what clothes you are to put on. Is not the life more precious than its food, and the body than its clothing? Look at the birds which fly in the air: they do not sow or reap or store up in barns, but your Heavenly Father feeds them: are not you of much greater value than they? Which of you by being over-anxious can add a single foot to his height? And why be anxious about clothing? Learn a lesson from the wild lilies. Watch their growth. They neither toil nor spin, and yet I tell you that not even Solomon in all his magnificence could array himself like one of these.”  WEY (Read this scripture and more at

One more aspect of this scripture has to do with being fed.  We are told that the birds flying up above do not need to worry about what they will eat.  And guess what!  They are fed directly by the hand of God.  They do not need to worry about what’s for supper; who will cook; when they will eat (they can eat any ol’ time they see a sweet morsel of bread or some seeds); or whether dinner is healthy or not.  Nope, they just fly around; sing; go back and forth with their necks when walking; and find a branch or nest for a bird’s night’s rest . . . Except owls and the like, of course . . . (Ever hear a hoot owl somewhere outside your city window?  I do.)

Yes, God’s plan for His natural world includes direct involvement with the feeding of wild things.  He planned grass, grain, water, sunshine, bugs, even sand for those with craws, and so much more.  But what has this to do with us?

Right here in these verses it tells us that if He feeds the animals, He will feed his human creations.  But it is not as directly from His hand, as in nature, although plucking a ripe peach directly from the tree is.  But mostly we work for the food we eat.  And yet we know that we only work with the materials He created for us – earth, water, sun, and tools for cultivating the land - or picking from trees.

Maybe the principle of provision here is important to a distressed young mother who doesn’t think she can afford the baby she’s carrying.  There are many ministries to help her financially with the child.  She just need to know about them.

Lord, we pray that we can be aware of what is available and that you will provide ways for us to share the options for LIFE, not premature death in the womb.  Give us grace, Lord, as you also give it, and assistance, to those in dire straits over children who are waiting to be born.

Topics:  Pray for mothers who do not know where to turn for help with an unexpected baby.  Pray for those who can help.
