§ What is Pro-Life Unity?

To achieve Pro-Life Unity we will establish standards that we all agree upon, and efforts that we all regularly participate in. By working together we can challenge the culture of death and the apathy which is pervasive in our society.

Matthew 6:25-29   Thought/Prayer:  Overly Anxious.  Topics:  2 at end.

Do Not Worry
For this reason I charge you not to be over-anxious about your lives, inquiring what you are to eat or what you are to drink, nor yet about your bodies, inquiring what clothes you are to put on. Is not the life more precious than its food, and the body than its clothing? Look at the birds which fly in the air: they do not sow or reap or store up in barns, but your Heavenly Father feeds them: are not you of much greater value than they? Which of you by being over-anxious can add a single foot to his height? And why be anxious about clothing? Learn a lesson from the wild lilies. Watch their growth. They neither toil nor spin, and yet I tell you that not even Solomon in all his magnificence could array himself like one of these.”  WEY Read this scripture and more at http://prayerpivot.com.)

It is sometimes so difficult to not be anxious.  Life, and the world, often seem dire.  Not that we shouldn’t have concern; but anxiety sometimes takes us too far past concern, even to the point of an inability to function.  Maybe we all have experienced brief episodes of not being able to think because anxiety has taken over.  Sometimes we cannot make a decision, or we become shaky.  Perhaps our episodes of extreme anxiety come from care, from caring about others or their circumstances.  We can become fearful, frazzled and unable to concentrate.

At these times, the last thing we may be thinking about is flying birds and wild lilies.  Really, the way we’re made, it may seem impossible to think of anything outside of the anxious state we are in.  And God surely knows this.  And God is the One who will help us through, help us out of this condition of debilitating frustration.

It may be that, having read a scripture such as this, it is within our being in some manner; and maybe, just maybe, having read it at one time or another, or at several times and anothers, God will be able to work in us to overcome our unwanted state of being.

So perhaps what we can do is pray, when we are of a normal state, that God will work in us a quiet mind and demeanor when life’s circumstances carry us into unwanted dithers.  And perhaps because we have within us God’s words regarding worry, He will bring them to mind when we need them.

And then, in another vein, we may have them readily at hand when we are concerned about someone who is quite upset about an unplanned pregnancy or a decision that needs to be made for a family member, a decision that can have life/death consequences. Lord, help us to be ready with Your Word, for them.

Topics:  Pray to instill within ourselves the words that we need from scripture that can help us through troublesome times.  Ask for God’s direction in this.
