§ What is Pro-Life Unity?

To achieve Pro-Life Unity we will establish standards that we all agree upon, and efforts that we all regularly participate in. By working together we can challenge the culture of death and the apathy which is pervasive in our society.

Matthew 6:6 (Pt. 4)  Thought/Prayer:  Our Father Rewards Us.  Topics:  2 at end.

“But you, when you pray, enter into your inner room, and having shut your door, pray to your Father who is in secret, and your Father who sees in secret will reward you openly.”  WEB (Read this scripture and more at

If we pray in secret, we are told that our Father, God, will reward us openly.  How?

We can use our imaginations here and picture many types of rewards:  Cash, gifts, trips to far-away destinations.  Wouldn’t it be wonderful if, for every word prayed, we would receive a dime as a reward?  But does God bribe His children to come to Him?  Nah.  No dime-a-prayer plan from Him.  (But, perhaps, there is a heavenly version of a dial-a-prayer; just coming to Him, it could be said, is a way of dialing him on the telly, so to speak.)

No, we cannot view His rewards as material items, although we do know that He blesses us with such things.  Like any loving father, He enjoys giving gifts to His children—us.  But they may be in far different form than material things.  It does say we will be rewarded “openly,” but are there not ways other than our carrying around a big bag of dimes (from some dime-a-prayer) for all to see?

Many of God’s rewards for us are in the spirit, and of the Spirit.  When we’re walking in His will, there are the rewards of peace, of confidence, of hope.  We may experience extra satisfaction in our daily activities and home life.  We may realize that we’re growing spiritually; now that is a true reward.

Lord, thank you that you do, indeed, reward Your children, just as an earthly father does for his offspring.  We accept the fact that many of your rewards are not tangible, that they are often in a realm of belief and of the Spirit.  But however you reward us, we ask that You will make us aware of how we can serve you daily, in and out, and that the rewards from You will only make us better in serving You.

Topics:  Pray for awareness of the rewards from God, especially the unseen kind that help us grow in Him.
