§ What is Pro-Life Unity?

To achieve Pro-Life Unity we will establish standards that we all agree upon, and efforts that we all regularly participate in. By working together we can challenge the culture of death and the apathy which is pervasive in our society.

Matthew 7:11 (Pt. 4)  Thought/Prayer:  Dads’ Gifts to Kids.  Topics:  2 at end.

“If you then, imperfect as you are, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father in Heaven give good things to those who ask Him!  WEY (Read these scriptures and more at

Many have said that the best gift a dad can give to his children is loving their mother.  Maybe that sounds a bit trite, or maybe it seems to go without saying.  But think about it.  Perhaps it could be true.

When a man loves a woman enough to marry her, and then children come along, security for the children is important.  They need to feel secure.  And, if Dad shows respect and love for Mom, this feeling of security is enhanced, whether it be from words of encouragement for mom, loving mom through service (such as in washing the dishes), or just plain showing affection with a kiss or hug now or then, witnessed by the kids.

When there is continual discord, many of these little things are probably not in evidence:  the relationship can be all about domination or complaints or “moods.”  Not that a mom and dad should never disagree in front of the children; but disagreements when the kids are present should still evidence respect and not denigration.  But, of course, this is not going to happen every minute every day.  Moms and dads are imperfect persons, just as we all are.

When we think of men who conceive children (many with women who believe that they are their “one and only” although not married), and then walk away, there is no chance of kids seeing Dad love Mom.

We must pray.  We must pray that there will be a continuing decline in the men who do this to women:  who do this to children.  It’s the opposite of giving a good gift to a child:  it’s the taking away of a good gift, that of loving Mom.

Lord, we ask that You convict men to take responsibility for the children they conceive and to respect and love the mothers.  It’s only through Your Spirit that this can happen, Lord.  And we ask for it.

Topics:  Pray for men to be convicted to be responsible for their children and their children’s mothers.
