§ What is Pro-Life Unity?

To achieve Pro-Life Unity we will establish standards that we all agree upon, and efforts that we all regularly participate in. By working together we can challenge the culture of death and the apathy which is pervasive in our society.

Matthew 8:14, 15 (Pt. 2)  Thought/Prayer:  Touch.  Topics:  2 at end.

“When Jesus came into Peter’s house, he saw his wife’s mother lying sick with a fever. He touched her hand, and the fever left her. She got up and served him.  When evening came, they brought to him many possessed with demons. He cast out the spirits with a word, and healed all who were sick; that it might be fulfilled which was spoken through Isaiah the prophet, saying: “’He took our infirmities, and bore our diseases.’” WEB (Read this scripture and more at

Jesus had a busy day.  He healed Peter’s mother-in-law and then in the evening he cast our spirits and healed the sick.  It seems there was no end of opportunity for Him to help people.  They flocked to Him, seeking His message and His power to help them.

When he got rid of the mother-in-law’s fever, he did it with a touch to her hand.  Just a touch, but the touch of a Master. The Master.  What would that have been like, felt like?  Like nothing else.  There could have been no other touch so gracious, tender and welcomed.  It would have been impossible that any other person in her past would have touched her in this manner.  This touch was unique because it was from the Lord of the Universe; and it also held and transferred power . . . which no one else could ever have done in her life.

Jesus’ touch.  Don’t we all wish we could reach up and touch His hand and receive from Him all He has to offer us?  Wouldn’t it be wonderful to have lived at the time He did on Earth?  This could be a bit saddening when we consider it.  We wish we could have been there!

But something better is coming along—is already.  Because of the events of that time, including Jesus’ death and resurrection, we have an even greater hope.  No, we cannot touch Him as He was then in the flesh; but we have the certain hope of being with Him forever.  We will touch Him then in whatever way is designed for it in Heaven.  And His touch will always be upon us.

What would it have been like to be that in-law of Peter’s?  Marvelous. What will it be like for us with Heaven’s touch:  Marvelous.  We will more than likely even meet this mother-in-law there!

So, Lord, help us to be patient to meet you face-to-face, as we are promised.  “For now we see in a mirror, darkly; but then face to face: now I know in part; but then shall I know even as also I have been known”  (I Cor. 13:12).  And in the meantime help us to be Your “touch” on planet Earth.  You gave us that task.  Help us to help those in LIFE’s throes with Your special touch, as You give it through us.

Topics:  Pray for wisdom when representing the touch of the Lord in people’s lives, especially when they are struggling so much with things of LIFE.
