§ What is Pro-Life Unity?

To achieve Pro-Life Unity we will establish standards that we all agree upon, and efforts that we all regularly participate in. By working together we can challenge the culture of death and the apathy which is pervasive in our society.

Micah 7:18,19 (Pt. 3)  Thought/Prayer:  How Far is It?  Topics:  2 at end.

“Who is a God like to you, that pardons iniquity, and passes by the transgression of the remnant of his heritage? he retains not his anger for ever, because he delights in mercy.
He will turn again, he will have compassion on us; he will subdue our iniquities; and you will cast all their sins into the depths of the sea.”  (AKJV)  (Read this scripture and more at http://prayerpivot.com.)

Psalm 103:8-12  “The LORD is merciful and gracious, slow to anger, and plenteous in mercy.
He will not always chide: neither will he keep his anger for ever.
He has not dealt with us after our sins; nor rewarded us according to our iniquities.
For as the heaven is high above the earth, so great is his mercy toward them that fear him.
As far as the east is from the west, so far has he removed our transgressions from us.”

Not only does God cast our confessed sins into the depths of the ocean, He also removes them from as far as east is from west.  So how far is this?  How far is the east from the west?  Never anything farther.

When one drives, walks or flies north to south or south to north, eventually when the poles are reached, the direction changes to the opposite.  We go to the north pole, going north; we get there and keep going . . . we are suddenly going south.  There is a limit to north/south.  But east to west?  No.  Not at all.

Say we go west from Paris.  We eventually fly west across the Atlantic, west across North America, across the Pacific, and across Mongolia and Austria;  And?  Back to Paris!  All going west.  We never run out of “west.”  To go east, we must turn around. So how far is east from west?  We might say “forever” far.  And we are told that when we confess our sin and ask for forgiveness, forever-far is how far our sins go.  Endlessly away.

If God had said our sins were as far as north from south, there would be a limit.  But not east to west.  Thank goodness (thank God).

He didn’t have to make it this way.  He could have put limits on how far they are taken away.  But he did not.  And what relief we have from this.  Because our sins are so endlessly far removed from us, we do not need to worry about them once they are confessed and we are forgiven.  When we agree with God about our sin, and how rotten we can sometimes be, and we repent, He forgives us, and then it is up to us to make a turn around and try not to sin that way again.

Repentance has within it a desire to turn away, to take on a new course.  With our sin cast so far away, then we have the opportunity to change and walk our lives differently.  In crisis-pregnancy centers, when the Good News of Jesus Christ is presented to women and men who are hurting because of the anguish of an unwanted pregnancy, caused by undisciplined living, they have opportunity to agree with God that there has been sin, repent of it, and walk freely.  Lord, we do thank You for the employees and volunteers at these centers; bless them as they go about presenting the pathway to freedom for hurting families:  the path of following Jesus Christ.

Topics:  Pray for the clients in crisis centers who are considering the decision they want to make for Christ.  Pray that God will help them understand His plan for them and for the unexpected child, no matter how he or she was conceived.
