§ What is Pro-Life Unity?

To achieve Pro-Life Unity we will establish standards that we all agree upon, and efforts that we all regularly participate in. By working together we can challenge the culture of death and the apathy which is pervasive in our society.

Nehemiah 3:6-12 (Pt. 2)  Thought/Prayar;  Build a Wall Together.  Topics:  2 at end.

The Builders of the Walls
“Then Eliashib the high priest rose up with his brothers the priests, and they built the sheep gate; they sanctified it, and set up the doors of it; even to the tower of Meah they sanctified it, to the tower of Hananeel. And next to him built the men of Jericho. And next to them built Zaccur the son of Imri.
But the fish gate did the sons of Hassenaah build, who also laid the beams thereof, and set up the doors thereof, the locks thereof, and the bars thereof. And next to them repaired Meremoth the son of Urijah, the son of Koz. And next to them repaired Meshullam the son of Berechiah, the son of Meshezabeel. And next to them repaired Zadok the son of Baana. and next to them the Tekoites repaired; but their nobles put not their necks to the work of their LORD.”  (AKJV)  Read this scripture and more at

Moreover the old gate repaired Jehoiada the son of Paseah, and Meshullam the son of Besodeiah; they laid the beams thereof, and set up the doors thereof, and the locks thereof, and the bars thereof. And next to them repaired Melatiah the Gibeonite, and Jadon the Meronothite, the men of Gibeon, and of Mizpah, to the throne of the governor on this side the river. Next to him repaired Uzziel the son of Harhaiah, of the goldsmiths. Next to him also repaired Hananiah the son of one of the apothecaries, and they fortified Jerusalem to the broad wall. And next to them repaired Rephaiah the son of Hur, the ruler of the half part of Jerusalem. And next to them repaired Jedaiah the son of Harumaph, even over against his house. And next to him repaired Hattush the son of Hashabniah. Malchijah the son of Harim, and Hashub the son of Pahathmoab, repaired the other piece, and the tower of the furnaces. And next to him repaired Shallum the son of Halohesh, the ruler of the half part of Jerusalem, he and his daughters.”  (AKJV)  Read this scripture and more at

When we think of working together with others, to promote LIFE issues, going against such issues as assisted suicide, abortion, in utero killing of babies who will have disabilities – it sometimes seems quite a challenge to have unity.  There are so many view points, personal involvements and feeling with different aspects of “Pro-Life,” that it may seem impossible to work alongside each other to achieve common goals.

But just look at Nehemiah and the wall-builders!  What was the united goal?  To rebuild the walls of Jerusalem.  Who did it?  Just about everyone.

In chapter 3 of the book of Nehemiah, Nehemiah records all of those who helped rebuild the wall, each person or group doing a separate section.  Even the priests became builders!  Even the high priest!

The point to be made here is that when there is a common cause, many people can contribute, no matter their personal viewpoint or their personal calling from God regarding the cause.  We may need to take on responsibilities not naturally ours, such as the priests in Jerusalem building walls.  Some of us are geared toward this aspect of ministry; others toward that aspect; someone else is off in an entirely different direction.

But work together we must.  If we are to build a wall of protection around God-created, natural LIFE, we all must build the wall together, side by side, no matter how we view our personal ministries, our “take” on pro-life work, if you will.  Together we will get it done, no matter if we are called to do something totally out of our realm of thought.

If God calls us to do it, alongside our brothers and sisters in Christ, it will be accomplished.  Here’s to protective wall-builders!  Lord, help us to know what to do.

Topics:  Pray for God’s vision to be apparent for us and for the willingness to do things beyond our normal ken.
