§ What is Pro-Life Unity?

To achieve Pro-Life Unity we will establish standards that we all agree upon, and efforts that we all regularly participate in. By working together we can challenge the culture of death and the apathy which is pervasive in our society.

Nehemiah 8:10 (Pt. 2)  Portions of Hope.

Thought/Prayer:  Portions of Hope.  Topics:  2 at end.

After Ezra had read the book of the law to the Israelites, Nehemiah spoke to all.

“Then he said unto them, ‘Go your way, eat the fat, and drink the sweet, and send portions unto them for whom nothing is prepared: for this day is holy unto our LORD: neither be ye sorry; for the joy of the LORD is your strength’.”

In this time of great rejoicing over the Word of God, we see that the Israelites are instructed to look out for those who lacked.  They were to share with others, to take portions to those who don’t have anything to prepare.  Today, how can we “take portions” to mothers unprepared for a pregnancy, to those who can lack so very much for their lives?

Many pregnancy crisis centers offer help to women in a physical sense, in the form of finding housing, providing foodstuffs and more.  Perhaps, though, in a different vein, there is the possibility of bringing them portions of hope.  Certainly those who benefit from physical gifts may have hope renewed.  And just the fact that there are those who care about their babies must bring blessings of hope, accompanied by portions of love from the givers.

Pray today that many offerings of hope, as well as those for physical needs, are received by the very mothers who need it right now.  Even though a gift of hope may seem small in comparison to need, still the difference in outlook it can make in the lives of a mother may be the greatest gift of all.

Topis:  Pray today for motherhood-unexpected to be able to receive the portions offered by those who care.

Pray for school nurses across the nation who deal with teens who are pregnant, that advice will be based on LIFE and not on the expediency of death for the preborn.
