§ What is Pro-Life Unity?

To achieve Pro-Life Unity we will establish standards that we all agree upon, and efforts that we all regularly participate in. By working together we can challenge the culture of death and the apathy which is pervasive in our society.

Nehemiah 8:10 (Pt. 3)  The Joy of Someone Else!

Thought/Prayer:  The Joy of Someone Else!  Topics:  2 at end.

After Ezra had read the book of the law to the Israelites, Nehemiah spoke to all.

“Then he said unto them, ‘Go your way, eat the fat, and drink the sweet, and send portions unto them for whom nothing is prepared: for this day is holy unto our LORD: neither be ye sorry; for the joy of the LORD is your strength’.”

It seems interesting that not only is the LORD our strength, His joy is also!  This seems difficult to define – how does the joy of someone else (even Someone Else!) strengthen us?

Hopefully, without getting too technical here, it would seem that this could mean that because we are aware of joy within another person, their joy encourages and motivates us, making us stronger.  Or it could perhaps mean that His joy is actually in us because He resides within us through the Holy Spirit who is within us.  Or maybe it’s as simple as being glad that His happiness is our happiness, happiness being a positive trait that can translate into positive thoughts and actions.

Whatever this joy is, in the five different Bible versions I looked up, they all are alike regarding this sentence, “The joy of the Lord is your strength.”  I’m going to claim this, for myself and for pro-life people who joy in their work to help babies, mothers and fathers, and families.  Pray today that because God has joy, they do also.

Topics:  Pray for the members of legislatures in every state, asking God to turn their hearts toward LIFE.

Pray for legislation being considered in foreign countries that can help curb abortions.
