§ What is Pro-Life Unity?

To achieve Pro-Life Unity we will establish standards that we all agree upon, and efforts that we all regularly participate in. By working together we can challenge the culture of death and the apathy which is pervasive in our society.

Passage John 3:6 (Pt. 2)  Thought/Prayer:  Flesh, Fleshly.  Topics:  2 at end.

We can think of “flesh” in different ways.  We know there are sins of the flesh, fleshly desires and fleshly attitudes, all of which God does not like.  We say we are made of flesh and bones.  We know Jesus came in the flesh as the method God provided in order to make Him just like us.  In Luke 3:6, we are told that all flesh will see the salvation of God.

The word “carne” means meat, such as in chili con carne, and we know that Christ came incarnate.  He was willing to take on our flesh, even the flesh of a baby, a small person unable to take care of himself, humanly speaking.  We all have probably patted the soft sweet flesh of a baby.  Jesus’ baby flesh must have been the purest of them all.

So God sees possibilities for problems with flesh, and He sees beauty and worthiness it, in this our human situation.  If God didn’t value our flesh, never would He have sent His son to take it on as his own.  And so must we see it all as worthy, worthy simply because God created it (it and all our other beautifully-turned parts).
To honor God, we must value our fleshly state, being in the skin that He gave us, and offering it up as a living sacrifice (Rom. 12:1).  And how better than to revere the newborn, the toddler, the kid, the teen, the adult?  We can revere them – (but not worship them!)—because we defer to our Maker who saw to it that all of these stages of “flesh” are important to him and worth His attention.  So must we see as important every creation with flesh, and so that includes every human being ever created.

Topics:  Lord, help us to value “flesh” as you would have it.  Help us to consider all the ramifications of this in our lives, especially where our service to the vulnerable is concerned.
Abortion providers, state by state, that they will know Christ and WANT TO give up their culture of death.
