§ What is Pro-Life Unity?

To achieve Pro-Life Unity we will establish standards that we all agree upon, and efforts that we all regularly participate in. By working together we can challenge the culture of death and the apathy which is pervasive in our society.

Phil. 1:9, 10 (Pt. 2)  Thought/Prayer: Inherently Excellent.  Topics:  2 at end.

“And this I pray, that your love may abound yet more and more in knowledge and in all judgment; That ye may approve things that are excellent; that ye may be sincere and without offence till the day of Christ.”  KJV http://www.bible.com  (Read this scripture and more at http://prayerpivot.com

What are some approvable things that are even inherently excellent, just by virtue of being what they are?  So many!  A few might include perfectly blown glass, pansy plants, emeralds, sailboats sailing, and classic art.  These great things don’t have to do anything to be noticed; they are just there to be noticed.  Their worth is intrinsic.

These things mentioned are inanimate objects (although sailboats may be made to move).  But there are also living breathing examples of the inherently excellent.  Persons.  Created persons.  Yes, you and I are inherently excellent and should be considered as such.

No, no – I’m not talking about what we do as created persons;  we are inherently excellent because we are created by God, and he doesn’t do anything non-excellent as we might say.  All he does, everything he does, is excellent and worthy of praise.  See here:  Rev. 4:11.  “Thou art worthy, O Lord, to receive glory and honour and power: for thou hast created all things, and for thy pleasure they are and were created.”  KJV

So why do we find it so difficult to truly appreciate the worth we have as individuals because of our Maker’s skillful crafting of our “selves”?  We should be continually rejoicing because of His handiwork.

But we lose sight of this, and we make mental negative judgments of people different from us, and we are too lazy to seek out Creator and get to know Him.  And when we lose sight of the worth of a person, we are headed downward on a greased slide, to wrongful decisions.  We become too lazy to honor the human person as excellently created.  And then it’s so-o-o easy to look only at a worldly perspective on life, and that can lead to very deep pits.

Lord, help us to acknowledge our worth because of who You are, our personal Architect of our selves.  Then, Lord, help us to transfer this appreciation to include every person in our world today and every person about to come into the world within the next 9 months.  Help us to appreciate the aged also, along with those persons with disabilities and distresses that may greatly impact our daily lives.

We praise You for creating us, Lord, excellently.

Topics:  Pray for our “selves” to adore the Lord and all whom He creates.  And help us see ourselves as excellent creations, even when we do not feel that we are.  Then we will be more empowered in service.
