§ What is Pro-Life Unity?

To achieve Pro-Life Unity we will establish standards that we all agree upon, and efforts that we all regularly participate in. By working together we can challenge the culture of death and the apathy which is pervasive in our society.

Philemon 1:1-3 (Pt. 2)  Thought/Prayer:  No Royalty.  Topics:  2 at end.

“Paul, a prisoner of Christ Jesus, and Timothy our brother, to Philemon, our beloved fellow worker, to the beloved Apphia, to Archippus, our fellow soldier, and to the assembly in your house: Grace to you and peace from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.”  WEB (Read this scripture and more at http://prayerpivot.com)

So, are soldiers, sailors and other military personnel just born into their calling, over and above others in life?  Are they in some way set apart from birth . . . different . . . not regular, like the rest of us?  Are they even of the warp and woof of life on Earth, or are they unlike other citizens of this world in quality?  No.

And this “no” is important to recognize.  For you see, when it comes to protection through military forces, it’s not that those who carry this out are born into it.  No, there is no “royalty” in a military hierarchy.  Royalty, such as princes, princesses, kings and queens almost universally may become such because of human blood lines, passing down thrones from generation to generation.  But not so with those who protect.

We see that military folks are just like all of us.  The basic premise here is that citizens protect citizens.  Sure, there is a hierarchy in every military force:  There must be.  The commands come down from above, from those who hopefully know the bigger picture of an entire scenario.  Most of us, were we in the military, would be ground forces carrying out commands.  We trust the higher authorities to command for the good and for the right.  But still, it is just citizens protecting citizens.

The same goes for those of us who are citizens of the Kingdom of God, through our saving faith in Jesus Christ.  “You are therefore no longer mere foreigners or persons excluded from civil rights.  On the contrary you share citizenship with God’s people and are members of HIs family.” (WNT)  And here again, it comes down to citizens protecting citizens.  There is much said in the Bible about our protective armour.  We are to use it to advance the kingdom; but in the process, we will act as protectorates to each other, to those of the household of faith.  We are to guard each other.

In doing so, may we, Lord, always be looking upward to You for our commands.  There need not be a “chain” of authority from You to us, but instead we may receive directives straight from you.  Prayer and knowing the scriptures may be implemented for carrying this out.

Topics:  Pray for the seeking of, the understanding of, and the implementation of directives from God, especially when praying and seeking about LIFE and all of its potential for bad, and for much good.
Our nation’s schools:  Those who write and interpret curriculum.
