§ What is Pro-Life Unity?

To achieve Pro-Life Unity we will establish standards that we all agree upon, and efforts that we all regularly participate in. By working together we can challenge the culture of death and the apathy which is pervasive in our society.

Philippians 3:14 (Pt. 5)  Thought/Prayer:  Defense As Offense.  Topics:  2 at end.

“I press on toward the goal for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus.” (WEB)  (Read these scriptures and more at http://prayerpivot.com.)

In a goal-line crunch, inches to go, teams’ energies focused in a tight clinch against each other, it may seem that the forces against each man are unseen.  No one seems to advance or retreat; it seems it is a stand-still wad of humanity at that line.  But forces there are.

But where?  The more one player pushes, his direct opponent is pushing back, and if the power of the two players is equal, neither one goes anywhere.  If there was no referee’s whistle, for lack of movement these two players could turn into a statue in few hundred years.  But this is a silly thought.

In life sometimes we wonder where the resistance is coming from when there seems to be no gain.  We serve the Lord, seek His face, ask for His guidance, and more; but the obstacle up against which we are pushing seems set in stone.  And we can’t even see it.  It’s not a lineman pushing us.  It’s life.  And when we cannot directly see the opponent, it’s easy to wander why nothing seems to be happening.

But maybe it is.  Maybe a great defense can be, in reality, a great offense.  If those football guys weren’t gridlocked at the end-zone line, one would be winning; one would be losing.  But when the forces are very equal, even not advancing is, in a sense, an advance.  A great defense can become offense when the opponent cannot go anywhere.

So in life, when it seems that we aren’t making anything happen, perhaps just standing against, with all our might, prevents any advance.

So in life, when it seems that we aren’t making anything happen, perhaps just by standing against, with all our might, we are preventing any advance.

When we run into forces in the battle for LIFE (against abortion, euthanasia, and killing the imperfect and the old), the obstacles seem greater than we can imagine.  But God doesn’t need to imagine them; he sees them and helps us push against with his great force.  Lord, thank You for Your power to help us overcome.  Even when we see no advancement, You will bring it.

Topics:  Praise God for His awesome power to overcome obstacles we cannot even see.  And pray.
