§ What is Pro-Life Unity?

To achieve Pro-Life Unity we will establish standards that we all agree upon, and efforts that we all regularly participate in. By working together we can challenge the culture of death and the apathy which is pervasive in our society.

Philippians 4:1   Thought/Prayer:  Stand Fast.  Topics:  2 at end.

“Therefore, my brothers dearly beloved and longed for, my joy and crown, so stand fast in the Lord, my dearly beloved.  (AKJV)  (Read this scripture and more at http://prayerpivot.com)

Stand fast.  “Stand fast,” says the apostle Paul in a letter to the Christians in Philippi, Macedonia, near Greece.  Paul lovingly greets these fellow Christians . . . “Dearly beloved”; his “joy and crown.”  He loves these people very much.  And he, later in the letter, lets them know how much he appreciates the care they have taken of him.  He probably wrote this letter while in prison.

Although there is evidence in the Philippian letter that the Christians there were always a great support to Paul, he doesn’t say for them to “stand fast” for his own sake.  He advises them to stand fast in the Lord.  This was always Paul’s mindset regarding his own physical life and the life He lived spiritually for the Lord.  He stood for the Lord first.

How do we stand for the Lord today?  Of course, in thousands of ways!  Actually we stand for Him in our uniqueness; so the total number of believers worldwide, those who love the Lord Jesus, is the grand total of all the ways we stand for Him.  Each person over whom Jesus Christ is Lord has his or her own unique way of “standing” for Him.

One way many of us stand for Jesus is by going to abortion places to pray or to hand out literature or speak with men and women as they walk toward the door to go inside.  This is a calling some of us have; others do not, but they may pray at home; share their beliefs with those who will listen; donate money to help clothe babies who are in this world because their parents decided to let them develop fully in the womb and then to be born.

In doing these things, participants are indeed standing fast in the Lord; we who do these activities could, we could suppose, be known as “dearly beloved” by the apostle Paul who stood so tall and fast in the Lord.  We may call each other beloveds, also.

Thank you, Lord, for helping us to stand firm, knowing we indeed are Your beloveds.  May we put this above any physical stand we may take in life.

Topics: Pray for strength to stand firm for the Lord. Pray as to whether this is to be outside an abortion clinic, as a witness . . . being a person who cares about the women, children, and families who will be affected by unnecessary taking of life from the womb.
