§ What is Pro-Life Unity?

To achieve Pro-Life Unity we will establish standards that we all agree upon, and efforts that we all regularly participate in. By working together we can challenge the culture of death and the apathy which is pervasive in our society.

Proverbs 16:13 (Pt. 2)  Thought/Prayer:  Righteous Lips . . . Really?  Topics: 2 at end.

“Righteous lips are the delight of kings. They value one who speaks the truth.”  WEB Read these scriptures and more at

Let’s consider those righteous lips again but not in regard to kings.  Let’s consider them in the every-day.  Think of lips being righteous as we go about our daily routines; see and do things; think things; say things.  It can be sort of an unusual image, to think of your lips or mine as being righteous.  “Righteous?” we say.  Righteousness is reserved for those folks who sin little and do good always, right?  But my lips that just took a swig of coffee?  Righteous?

We are discussing the words that cross our lips, of course.  And where do our words originate?  In our minds.  And how does anything less than truth get into our minds?  It’s that the enemy is always influencing our thoughts, or trying to.  Satan is the father of lies (See John 8:44).  In Proverbs 23:7 we see that as we think, so we are

Oh, my, we say.  There are so many unwholesome thoughts that get in my brain.  Help, Lord, to get them out!

And there is the answer:  God’s influence in our minds and then on to whatever goes across our lips.  Yes, our latte-sippin’ lips can be righteous.  It just takes awareness of how we think and do and what we say.  Lord, help us to seek You so much that our lips become as righteous as possible.  When thoughts otherwise come to us, help us to give them to you and ask for better, purer ones that will then lead us to speak from righteous lips every day.  And as an aside, the king will be delighted!

Topics: Pray for obedience to seek God’s words to come across our lips and on out into the world of others.  Help us to speak truth to those in LIFE struggles and situations.
