§ What is Pro-Life Unity?

To achieve Pro-Life Unity we will establish standards that we all agree upon, and efforts that we all regularly participate in. By working together we can challenge the culture of death and the apathy which is pervasive in our society.

Ps. 127:3-5 (Pt. 4)  Thought/Prayer:  As Arrows.  Topics:  2 at end.

“Lo, children are an heritage of the LORD: and the fruit of the womb is his reward.  As arrows are in the hand of a mighty man; so are children of the youth.  Happy is the man that hath his quiver full of them: they shall not be ashamed, but they shall speak with the enemies in the gate.” KJV (Read this scripture and more at http://prayerpivot.com)

So here we have children being as arrows for a bow.  And they are not just in anyone’s hand.  A “mighty man” holds them.  When a man is described as mighty, we think of power, wisdom, and strength.

So the arrows (children) must surely have a powerful future, being sent out from the hands and arms of such a man.  God thinks of children as being as this.  It is, perhaps, a sobering thought for us who have children or would like to parent some them in our lives.  What if I don’t think I’m a mighty person?

Not all people in the Bible, or in life, are mighty, we know.  But here we are not talking so much about being mighty as we are that God sees children as being “usable” by a mighty person.  It is their characteristics being discussed here.  Within children are the potentials to be used in life as though they are sent out from the bow of a mighty person.  What an interesting thought.

Lord, we will probably not presume to be considered “mighty” in your sight.  But we can certainly think of children having mighty potential when created by You and then allowed to be used of you in their lives, as though they are arrows shot out into the world, for Your purposes.  Help us to view them in that way, as You do.

Topics:  Pray for wisdom to view children as potential assets to the Lord, as they grow and develop in life.
