Ps. 92:13-15 (Pt. 3)  Thought/Prayer: Just Stand There and Flourish.  Topics:  2 at end.

“Those that be planted in the house of the LORD shall flourish in the courts of our God.  They shall still bring forth fruit in old age; they shall be fat and flourishing; To shew that the LORD is upright: he is my rock, and there is no unrighteousness in him.”  KJV  (Read this scripture and more at

If we are planted in the house of the Lord, how will we flourish?  Well, when we consider the purchase of a new plant for our homes, what do we consider in choosing just the right one?  We probably find the best light in the perfect window; we read about how much to water the plant; we consider if it will fit where we want it to by finding out about its potential growth.  All well and good, even if we don’t excel in people’s green-thumb circles.

But how do we flourish in God’s house, in his courts?  Similarly.  We read the owner’s manual (our Bibles) put out by the manufacturer of plants (God); we place ourselves in the best light available (Light from the Word and from Christ himself, who is the Light [John 8:12]); and we seek to know where we fit in, in His Kingdom here on this Earth.  Christ brings us Living Water in just the exactly perfect amount.

But to picture ourselves growing as a plant in God’s court:  Beautiful.  We’re not only going to grow, but flourish.  We can totally flourish because we don’t have to worry about the care we will get.  We’ll never be over-watered until our roots get mushy.  We just stand there and flourish (we just dig in, we might say).

Lord, we want to flourish in your garden.  We don’t know, Lord, exactly where we are right now in your courts, but help us to open ourselves to Your care.  And help us to pray for your care for all in family crises regarding pregnancies.  Babies in the womb:  Lord, we ask, please help them flourish right there even before they even realize your courts or even YOU.
