§ What is Pro-Life Unity?

To achieve Pro-Life Unity we will establish standards that we all agree upon, and efforts that we all regularly participate in. By working together we can challenge the culture of death and the apathy which is pervasive in our society.

Psalm 107:1 – 9 (Pt. 2)  Thought/Prayer:  Solitary Wandering.  Topics:  2 at end

“His Loving Kindness Endures Forever
O give thanks to the LORD, for he is good: for his mercy endures for ever.
Let the redeemed of the LORD say so, whom he has redeemed from the hand of the enemy;
And gathered them out of the lands, from the east, and from the west, from the north, and from the south.
They wandered in the wilderness in a solitary way; they found no city to dwell in.
Hungry and thirsty, their soul fainted in them.
Then they cried to the LORD in their trouble, and he delivered them out of their distresses.
And he led them forth by the right way, that they might go to a city of habitation.
Oh that men would praise the LORD for his goodness, and for his wonderful works to the children of men!
For he satisfies the longing soul, and fills the hungry soul with goodness.”  (AKJV)  (Read these scriptures and more at

The children of Israel wandered in the desert for about 40 years.  This scripture references this wandering as “solitary.”  They felt alone.  There were no other peoples wandering around with them.  Just themselves.  Or at least, humanly speaking they were alone.

However, God always knew they were there, and He helped them.  He provided daily food (manna, as it fell to the ground daily).  Exodus 16:31:  “And the house of Israel called the name thereof Manna: and it was like coriander seed, white; and the taste of it was like wafers made with honey” (AKJV).  Could we say that God indeed did let them wander about, yet was always cognizant of them, never forgetting them?  Can we say the same for ourselves today?

For families struggling with LIFE crises that end up being choices between life and death, they may feel that they also are wandering alone in wilderness of life.  They may not be able to believe that God still cares for them because of the situations in which they find themselves and seemingly no good way out.  But He does, and if there is a chance to share with them how He worked with His children in the desert, always being there, always providing, then perhaps there can blossom some hope, as flowers in a wilderness.

Lord, help us, please, to be able to convey this grand protection that God provides us through “wilderness” times.  Help us let them know that they do not need to wander “solitary,” but that God always walks with us.  We have all walked through a wilderness.  Help us to help others in a wilderness to come into positive life choices through the God who is always there.

Topics:  Pray for wisdom in counseling others about God’s love and protection and never-wavering care.
