§ What is Pro-Life Unity?

To achieve Pro-Life Unity we will establish standards that we all agree upon, and efforts that we all regularly participate in. By working together we can challenge the culture of death and the apathy which is pervasive in our society.

Psalm 107:1 – 9 (Pt. 4)  Thought/Prayer:  Their Souls Fainted.  Topics:  2 at end.

“His Loving Kindness Endures Forever
O give thanks to the LORD, for he is good: for his mercy endures for ever.
Let the redeemed of the LORD say so, whom he has redeemed from the hand of the enemy;
And gathered them out of the lands, from the east, and from the west, from the north, and from the south.
They wandered in the wilderness in a solitary way; they found no city to dwell in.
Hungry and thirsty, their soul fainted in them.
Then they cried to the LORD in their trouble, and he delivered them out of their distresses.
And he led them forth by the right way, that they might go to a city of habitation.
Oh that men would praise the LORD for his goodness, and for his wonderful works to the children of men!
For he satisfies the longing soul, and fills the hungry soul with goodness.”  (AKJV)  (Read these scriptures and more at http://prayerpivot.com.)

What beautiful words.  “Oh that men would praise the LORD for his goodness, and for his wonderful works to the children of men!
For he satisfies the longing soul, and fills the hungry soul with goodness.”

Have you ever longed for something?  Have you so intensely wanted something that it turns into a longing?  An ongoing wishfulness that something would happen . . . even unto its becoming a wistfulness . . . tinged with a bit of melancholy with maybe a few tears on a bedtime pillow?

We may long for a solution to a “situation.”  We may long for someone to pay us some true attention.  We may long for someone to value us.  We may want spiritual blessings for someone who is unable to acknowledge that there are things-spiritual.  Whatever it is, we can be taken over with this longing.  Maybe the children of Israel were at times overcome with such a longing.

But God satisfies the longing soul.  Whatever it is that we long for, God is the answer . . . although we may think we need some immediate proof that we can see right now (especially in this age of “instant” everything).  It may seem that He is slow in coming.

But He satisfies the longing soul.  He satisfies it in His own way . . . His own time.  And when He does, it is enough.  Maybe years after our first longings, He lets us know that His work is done:  and we are satisfied.  With the Israelites, it was almost 40 years.  And those who lived to enter the Promised Land (the men who were of the age to fight, 20 years or under at the time of doubt) surely must have exclaimed over words such as these:  Ecclesiastes 3:11a -  “He has made every thing beautiful in his time: . . .”  (AKJV).

We want to help those who struggle in LIFE issues.  Sometimes potential death issues are some of the most agonizing we face.  Maybe it is up to those who offer counsel to be firm in the understanding that God does satisfy the longing soul; and then in our prayers we can claim this from Him, for those who long for answers.  His.  The only real ones.

Topics:  Pray for wisdom to help others know how God does satisfy even our deepest longings, and always in His time.
