§ What is Pro-Life Unity?

To achieve Pro-Life Unity we will establish standards that we all agree upon, and efforts that we all regularly participate in. By working together we can challenge the culture of death and the apathy which is pervasive in our society.

Psalm 116:1 Thought/Prayer: Listen for the New Voices.  Topics:  2 at end.

“I love the LORD, because he hath heard my voice and my supplications.”  KJV (Read this scripture and more at http://prayerpivot.com)

Once again I am blessed by the elders’ singing at the senior home.  This time, most of the major “players” (singers) were not there.  Three of the four main gentlemen who come from independent living were gone, and two of the main ladies.  That left one man to cover with a stronger voice.  But there were also many others from the skilled nursing area.

This is what I noticed.  Even though the stronger voices were absent, there was still singing!  And it sounded good.  Different, but still good.  In fact, I hadn’t really noticed how those voices were doing until they could be better heard.  They weren’t what we might call praying, but it was very enjoyable and surely honoring to God.

Sometimes God takes something away from us only to make us aware of something else.  Not that I don’t want our independent folks to come – oh, no – they add so much.  But it was great to hear the others enjoying the songs and making them beautiful by their quieter voices.

As we serve the Lord in the LIFE area, when we notice that there seem to be resources missing, or when the major contributors to the cause are called away to something else, we have no great need to whine about.  God will send someone else – maybe someone whose voice (and service) has just not been really noticed.  In fact, it may be a chance for someone else to shine.

Of course, sitting at the piano with my back toward the singers, I couldn’t see who was contributing the most to the new sound we were creating.  But it didn’t matter.  No matter who was singing out, or whoever turns up to help in the LIFE cause, it will work.

Lord, help us to thank you for what you give us, and help us not to bemoan our lot when things are difficult because people are sparse to the task.  Help us to just listen for the new voices you send our way!

Topics:  Pray for workers in our cause who may not be seen because others are so active, and help those people know that they are valued and needed in whatever ways they are involved.
