§ What is Pro-Life Unity?

To achieve Pro-Life Unity we will establish standards that we all agree upon, and efforts that we all regularly participate in. By working together we can challenge the culture of death and the apathy which is pervasive in our society.

Psalm 25:12-15 (Pt. 3)  Thought/Prayer:  Secrets, Confidences?  Topics:  2 at end.

“What man is he that feareth the LORD? him shall he teach in the way that he shall choose.  His soul shall dwell at ease; and his seed shall inherit the earth.  The secret of the LORD is with them that fear him; and he will show them his covenant.  My eyes are ever towards the LORD; for he will pluck my feet out of the net.”  WBS (Read this scripture and more at http://prayerpivot.com)

What is the “secret of the Lord” that is with them who fear him?

Here’s a different version, from Young’s Literal Translation (published in versions from 1862 to 1898): “The LORD confides in those who fear him; he makes his covenant known to them.”

Could this mean that God shares His own secret thoughts with those who fear him?  Maybe we should hesitate to say this without fully researching the meanings of the words “secret” and “confides in.”  It seems so Godly-personal and private.  Would we even dare to think that He would confide in us, even though we are His created children and thus way beneath Him in our status?  We certainly did not have the wherewithal to create ourselves!  Only His mastermind could be that ingenious!

And yet, is the Bible not a record of God’s thoughts and his wanting us, His created children, though beneath him, to know them?  It’s just that this scripture sets it out so beautifully.  We know from this beautifully-ordered sentence that we are important to God even to the point of his sharing His secrets with us, or confiding in us.  Whatever it exactly means, can we not see that He wants us to know Him well enough to either share a secret or make us a confidante?  No, He doesn’t need a confidante!  But isn’t it humbling to think that He does want to include us in his thoughts?

Lord, may we remember this when we are thinking that we are just “dust” and no good because we cannot serve You perfectly while here on Earth.  Could you, in those hours, please remind us of this passage where we are described as receptacles for Your secrets or your confidences?  When we are discouraged about helping someone with a great LIFE challenge, please remind us that You will always share Your thoughts with us.  Sometimes we don’t even need to ask.

Topics:  Pray to be aware that God knows that we are His and that He feels free to share with us however He chooses.
