§ What is Pro-Life Unity?

To achieve Pro-Life Unity we will establish standards that we all agree upon, and efforts that we all regularly participate in. By working together we can challenge the culture of death and the apathy which is pervasive in our society.

Psalm 25:15 (Pt. 2)  Thought/Prayer:  Snared.  Topics:  2 at end.

“My eyes are ever toward the LORD; for he shall pluck my feet out of the net.”  (AKJV)  (Read this scripture and more at
Psalm 91:3  “He that dwelleth in the secret place of the Most High Shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty.
I will say of Jehovah, He is my refuge and my fortress; My God, in whom I trust.
For he will deliver thee from the snare of the fowler, And from the deadly pestilence.
He will cover thee with his pinions, And under his wings shalt thou take refuge: His truth is a shield and a buckler.”

There are nets that can catch you; there are snares that can catch you.  Hunted animals in the forest do not want to get into either of these.  There is so often no way out, although on occasion a soft-hearted hunter will free a bird or a squirrel when seen along the way.  But for the most part, if you’re caught, you’re always caught.

A snare, of course, is a device that is set to catch an animal or bird by a snare (a loop of rope or such) that catches around the animal’s neck.  A snare has to be set correctly in order for the animal to push against the trigger (a stick of wood that has attached to it, and a bent sapling of a tree), and the trigger will release the loop of rope and tighten around the neck as it flies upward with the animal.

So if you or I were a hunter on the lookout for prey such as birds, we might build a snare to catch unsuspecting animals or birds.  The same could occur in our lives.  Things are going along smoothly, we feel; and then, suddenly, something happens that catches us by surprise, and we may feel that we are flying upwards with a noose around our neck.

But here, in the words above, in Psalm 91:3, we learn that God will deliver us from snares.  Hallelujah!  And it’s interesting . . . sometimes we may feel that we have constructed our own snare right there before our own eyes.  Oh, we may not have noticed that we are making decisions through which we may be ensnared.  No, we may not.  But guess what.  Eventually we find that we are in the middle of something; and there seems to be no way to be saved.  We may feel that around our necks are tight loops, that prevent us from continuing on.

When our lives get this tangled, so that we feel entrapped and hanging, others may be holding us up in prayer.  It is so important that we pray for others and their ensnaring situations.  Even when we do not know someone personally, our general prayers to God for those who are feeling they are “caught” may call His attention to those who need him so badly.  He knows who they are!

Lord, as we . . . or as others . . . are in situations from which escape seems impossible, give us the words above:  That we will be delivered from the snare of the fowler.  We pray this for the families that are stressed and feeling “caught” over LIFE issues.  Help them to see the relief that only You can give.

Topics:  Pray for those who are feeling trapped in situations of LIFE, often not of their own making.
