§ What is Pro-Life Unity?

To achieve Pro-Life Unity we will establish standards that we all agree upon, and efforts that we all regularly participate in. By working together we can challenge the culture of death and the apathy which is pervasive in our society.

Psalm 25:15   Thought/Prayer: Plucked.  Topics:  2 at end.

Psalm 25:15   “My eyes are ever toward the LORD; for he shall pluck my feet out of the net.”  (AKJV)  (Read this scripture and more at
Psalm 91:3   “He that dwelleth in the secret place of the Most High Shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty.
I will say of Jehovah, He is my refuge and my fortress; My God, in whom I trust.
For he will deliver thee from the snare of the fowler, And from the deadly pestilence.
He will cover thee with his pinions, And under his wings shalt thou take refuge: His truth is a shield and a buckler.”

Maybe most of us have never spent time trying to walk around on a net that is stretched over something such as a game at a school fun night, or such.  For those of who have never tried this (probably most of us since no real games are coming to mind I must admit), this activity seems to be lacking in grace:  a person struggles to find solid ground on something that is full of little square holes that easily catch on shoes or toes.  Maybe we picture the safety nets underneath the aerial acts at circuses.  The graceful trapeze artist may fall into the net below; and then all grace seems to leave their gait as they attempt to walk to the edge and jump off . . . sort of waddling in huge steps that plunge.

Nets are difficult to traverse:  They have nothing solid underneath; they go down with every step; balance is difficult to maintain.  Maybe a foot gets caught, upsetting balance.

These scriptures have to do with nets and snares and becoming entrapped in one.  And how often in life do we feel that our feet are trying to make progress but we are always off-balance and not really in control?  How many times do LIFE issues . . . those of life and death and decisions and decisions . . . tend to make us walk unsteadily as we try to navigate circumstances and situations?

These Bible verses may help.  In Psalm 25:15 we learn that God has great skill at “plucking.”  The word pluck just triggers a mind-image of God’s grand arm and hand reaching down from above and with thumb and forefinger, pulling a person up and out, with great finesse.  That such an image can come out of this scripture of hope is pretty great planning on God’s part.

But in seriousness, it is so true that God is the one who helps us when we feel totally entangled with the nets that seem to catch at us in our days’ journeys.  So when we . . . or those we know . . . or those unknowns for whom we pray . . . are greatly entangled in life’s nets of problems and seemingly impossible outcomes, let us pray.  If we do not know of those personally, perhaps in our prayer times we may just ask the Lord’s favor on so many who feel totally caught and unable to go forward.

If the situation has to do with a preborn baby or an elder and their living or dying, Lord, we ask special finesse on Your part to help them and those who have concern, become not entangled . . . but untangled as you pluck.

Topics:  Pray for those whose toes are entangled in the problematic nets of life.  When life is at stake, help them remember You, Lord, as Creator and sustainer until natural death.
