§ What is Pro-Life Unity?

To achieve Pro-Life Unity we will establish standards that we all agree upon, and efforts that we all regularly participate in. By working together we can challenge the culture of death and the apathy which is pervasive in our society.

Psalm 28:7 (Pt. 3)  Thought/Prayer:  Working Joy Backwards?  Topics:  2 at end.

“The LORD is my strength and my shield; my heart trusted in him, and I am helped: therefore my heart greatly rejoices; and with my song will I praise him.”  (AKJV)  Read this scripture and more at

Nehemiah 8:10b “’ . . . ‘‘for this day is holy unto our LORD: neither be ye sorry; for the joy of the LORD is your strength.’” (AKJV)

If we pray for joy, we are praying for God’s joy; we are praying for God’s strength.  So what if we have joy over God’s workings in our lives, even though we haven’t prayed for it for ourselves?  What then?  Can we work this backwards to get to strength from our joy?  It seems we can.

Maybe we are just experiencing a lot of joy on a particular day, joy that God is good and that He loves us.  Or maybe we have seen that love in some particular way.  Maybe an experience could have been much worse than it was; or maybe we see God’s protective hand over us in a situation, and we get to thinking about it and feel joy.

If we examine this joy that we feel, we may be able to see a pathway of God’s strength to this joy.  Just feeling joyful on any day – seemingly for no special reason – can be evidence that God has applied His strength in our lives perhaps because when we are feeling joyful, we are evidencing, perhaps, at least a certain amount of strength.  Far-fetched?  Maybe.  But perhaps:  Strength unto joy; joy unto strength.

Even if we are in less-than-perfect circumstances, just being joyful can prove His strength because He is right there in it.  But, yes, it is very difficult to feel joy in the depths of grinding problems that wear us down.  But if a little joy raises itself into our vision, let it come!  If we ignore it, we’re missing out on some of God’s handiwork in our lives.  We may be tempted to want to ignore joy when we’re feeling so terrible – Maybe even feel guilty.  But, no.  Let it come.  Joy can open the eyes to God and His strength.

Thank You, Lord, for the gift of joy and that Your joy contains your strength.  Help us to help those going through LIFE crises, to know your joy, and then You!

Topics:  Pray for others to allow joy into their lives, even in the most dire of circumstances – God’s joy, of strength.
